In the past, we were able to manage the volume of free submissions. However, we now receive nearly 10,000 emails each year — the majority from questionable sources or companies attempting to mislead consumers. Sorting through these has become increasingly difficult, especially since many of these illegitimate businesses shut down after just one prom season. Introducing a waitlist has helped dramatically reduce the number of scammers attempting to be featured on our site.
Who are you?
We’ve been active in the prom industry since 2003, developing dozens of e-commerce websites focused on prom dresses and related products. I also served as the well-known moderator of the Formal Wear category in the now-retired DMOZ (Open Directory Project) until AOL shut it down in 2017.
