The shop is at 200 E 11th Ave, Suite 110, near the corner of 11th and Oak. Eugene Station, the Lane Transit District hub at 1080 Willamette, is two blocks west, and EmX buses run the 11th Avenue corridor past the door. That matters for a sophomore without a car: this is one of the few formalwear stops in the southern Willamette Valley a student can reach on a bus pass rather than a parent’s afternoon off work.
South Eugene High School is at 400 E 19th Ave — eight blocks straight south on the same grid, walkable in about fifteen minutes.
It is a bridal shop that also does dances
Save the Date opened in February 2021 and leads with weddings. Owner Darcy Kutch says she has more than 25 years in the industry, and the store’s published bridal gown range runs roughly $1,200 to $4,000. Prom sits alongside that business, not in place of it. The store is an authorized retailer for two prom labels, Alyce Paris and Tiffany Designs, both of which list it on their own dealer locators.
Two things follow from the bridal-first setup, and both work in a prom shopper’s favor. First, tuxedos: Save the Date rents complete tuxedos for dances as well as weddings, and says most of its rental inventory is kept in the store rather than ordered in, which makes a late booking more workable than it would be elsewhere. A couple can settle the dress and the tux in one stop. Second, the store describes its non-bridal formal gowns as sold off the rack at half off, no order window — useful in the last three weeks before a dance, when special orders stop being an option.
Hours, parking, appointments
Closed Wednesdays and Sundays; open 10 to 5 the rest of the week, with Sunday by arrangement. Appointments are preferred and can be booked through the store’s site or by phone at (541) 344-5867. The store notes free parking in the lot behind the building, marked Suite 110, with metered street parking on E 11th when the lot fills. Downtown meters are worth the coins here; the back lot is small.
Who ends up here
All four 4J high schools are inside the city — South Eugene, Churchill, North Eugene, and Sheldon, which is out on Willakenzie Road in the northeast. Add Willamette in the Bethel area and Marist Catholic, then Springfield High and Thurston, at N 58th Street, across the river. Past the metro edge, the county thins out fast: Junction City, Creswell, Cottage Grove, Pleasant Hill, Elmira, Lowell, Oakridge up Highway 58, and Siuslaw out at the coast in Florence. For those students, downtown Eugene is the shopping trip. The alternative is Portland, about 110 miles north on I-5, which is a full day.
One practical note. The store’s own website and social accounts put most of their weight on bridal, so the visible prom selection is not documented in the way it is at a dedicated prom store. Call before driving in from Cottage Grove or Junction City and ask what is on the floor in your size, and whether an Alyce Paris or Tiffany Designs order can still land before your date.
