Two businesses share Suite A at 2415 N. Academy Blvd. Bridal Elegance sells the dresses. Gentlemen’s Choice Tuxedos handles the suits and tuxedo rentals. Same family, same front door. The shop’s own account is that Bridal Elegance has been family-owned since 1983 and the tuxedo side opened a few years after that. For a prom couple, or for a parent driving two teenagers, it collapses two errands into one.
The prom brands
Clarisse, La Femme and Dave & Johnny all list this store on their official retailer locators. The store’s own prom catalog adds Alyce Paris, Nox Anabel and an in-house BE Prom Collection. That is a mainstream prom lineup rather than a boutique one: fitted jersey and sequin gowns, corset bodices, ballgown skirts, the styles that show up on a Colorado Springs prom floor rather than on a runway.
The size filter on their prom pages runs from 000 to 32 and includes 12W through 24W. What is actually hanging on the rack in any given week is a different question, and the store says so plainly on its own prom page — inventory changes, call before you come in for a specific style. Do that. A phone call at (719) 596-5911 is cheaper than a drive across town.
Where this puts you on the map
Academy Boulevard is the long way around Colorado Springs. It leaves I-25 at the north end of town, curves south along the whole east side, and rejoins I-25 down past Fort Carson. Almost every high school family in El Paso County can reach this address without touching the interstate, which is the practical argument for a store sitting on a commercial strip rather than in a mall.
The nearest cluster of high schools is District 11 — Palmer, Doherty, Mitchell, Coronado. Academy and Powers carry the Falcon District 49 side of town in from the east, Widefield and Fountain-Fort Carson come up from the south, and the Academy District 20 and Lewis-Palmer schools come down from the north end. There is private-lot parking, so no fighting Academy traffic for a curb spot.
A lot of families here are attached to Fort Carson, Peterson or Schriever Space Force Base, or the Air Force Academy. If your teenager transferred in during the school year and does not yet know where anything is, a shop on the city’s main north-south arterial is the easy first stop.
Hours, and the day that will catch you out
- Closed Tuesday. The store lists weekday hours of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. but marks Tuesday closed, so plan around it.
- Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday noon to 5 p.m. Sunday afternoons are open, which is unusual for an independent formalwear shop.
- A 7 p.m. weekday close means you can come after practice or after a shift.
Prom season starts early here. In February 2025 the two stores put on a joint prom fashion show at the shop itself, with tuxedos on the runway alongside the gowns. Their prom collection for the next spring goes up months ahead of the dances. Book an appointment if you can — prom shares the floor with bridal, bridesmaids and mothers’ dresses, and spring Saturdays here belong to brides too.
