The Formal Niche keeps prom simple. Every prom and quinceañera dress in the Warr Acres shop is sold in the size it hangs in, so if a gown fits, it goes home that afternoon. The store cannot order another size, and if one doesn't fit, the staff will help you find a different gown that does. The store recommends shopping early for the widest choice of sizes and styles.
The racks are sorted by color, so a shopper can head straight for the shade she has in mind. Sizing is inclusive, and fresh arrivals show up through the season.
Prom and quince follow their own terms and keep their own section of the floor, separate from the bridal side.

Walk-in only. There is no appointment to book and no waiting for a slot; you come in during business hours and start pulling dresses.

A MacArthur Boulevard shop with more than dresses inside
The Formal Niche opened in 2013 on North MacArthur Boulevard in Warr Acres, the small city wrapped inside northwest Oklahoma City. The shop is locally owned by Courtney. Putnam City High School is the neighborhood school in this corner of central Oklahoma, and Putnam City North, Putnam City West and Bethany High School are all a few miles away. The quinceañera gown selection runs from soft blush tones to jewel colors and full tulle ballgowns.

Bridal suite packages, from Meet Cute to Fairy Tale
The Formal Niche has served Oklahoma brides since 2013, with wedding dress styles in sizes 0 to 30 from DaVinci Bridal, Luna Novias, Alma Novias and Adriana Alier. The racks include black, colorful, floral and other alternative wedding dresses. An off-the-rack gown can go home the same day, and special orders take two to six months. Bridesmaid dresses come in a range of styles and colors.
Brides can book or walk in, and the store suggests booking on Saturdays to be sure a room is free. The free Meet Cute appointment lets a bride bring up to four to six people, though it does not guarantee the bridal suite. Love at First Sight ($47) and Happily Ever After ($97) are 1 hour and 30 minute suite appointments with champagne for the bride and up to 6 or up to 8 guests. Fairy Tale ($250) is a 2 hour private appointment outside regular business hours for the bride and up to 10 guests, with 10% off veils and accessories.

What if the size on the rack doesn't fit?
Try a different size or style while you are there. Prom and quinceañera gowns are sold off the rack only, so the shop does not reorder sizes.
How do formal sizes run?
Not the way street clothes do, so the staff suggest trying a range of sizes and silhouettes before settling on one.
Each designer has it's own size chart and most of them are based off of European sizing.
