Pitt Street is the main street of the Bedford County seat, and it is also US 30 running through town. Beverly’s Touch of Class sits on the east end of it at 112 E. Pitt, in the middle of the downtown storefront blocks rather than out on a highway strip. For most of south-central Pennsylvania’s Bedford County, that address is the closest formal dress rack there is.
The shop is listed as a full-service bridal and special-occasion store — bridal gowns, prom and homecoming dresses, and menswear under one roof. That combination matters more in a county of this size than it would in a suburb. A brother’s tux rental and a sister’s prom gown can be handled on the same errand, and the same shop is there again when the wedding comes.

Beverly’s appears on the official retailer locators for Clarisse and Johnathan Kayne. Those are not interchangeable lines. Clarisse is core prom — the fitted and A-line silhouettes teenagers actually pull off the rack first. Johnathan Kayne sits at the heavier, more heavily beaded end of the market, the kind of gown that also gets bought for pageant and evening wear. Carrying both means a Pitt Street fitting room covers a wider range than the two-label list suggests. Anything else on the floor is worth a phone call to confirm, because stock and lines change year to year.
Who is driving in
Bedford County spreads its high schools out, and nearly all of them are within a half hour of this block:
- Bedford Area High School, in town
- Chestnut Ridge High School, to the west
- Northern Bedford County High School, up toward Loysburg
- Everett Area High School, east on US 30
- Tussey Mountain High School, north around Saxton
Five separate proms inside that radius means the same gown can turn up at two of them. It is a reasonable thing to raise with the staff when trying something on — which school, which night — and a small shop is usually the one place that can answer it.
The alternative is a highway trip
Skip Bedford and the options get further out fast: Altoona is roughly forty miles north on I-99, Johnstown is a comparable haul to the northwest, and Cumberland, Maryland is about thirty-five miles south on US 220. Any of those turns dress shopping into a half day with a highway drive on either side of it, plus a second trip for alterations. A Pitt Street appointment is a stop between other errands.
For families coming from outside the county, Bedford is Exit 146 on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, which puts the downtown a couple of minutes off the interchange. Parking downtown is on-street.
