Book before you drive over. Dress Lounge runs on appointments — there is a booking form on its own site, and Yelp lists the shop closed on Wednesdays with short Sunday hours. That is not a formality here. This is primarily a bridal salon, and prom shoppers are walking into a room built around one-on-one fittings rather than a warehouse floor you graze on a Saturday whim.
That shapes the whole visit. Jennifer Rushton has led the boutique for nine years, and the store’s pitch is a tailored appointment rather than volume. If you want to try on six gowns with your mother and a friend and have someone pull sizes for you, that is what this format is good at. If you want to browse anonymously for an hour, it is not.

Kingston is the largest borough in Luzerne County, sitting on the west bank of the Susquehanna directly across from Wilkes-Barre, with Kirby Park and the river between them and the Market Street and Pierce Street bridges connecting the two. Northampton Street cuts west across the borough toward Edwardsville. From Wilkes-Barre this is a short trip over a bridge; from farther out in northeastern Pennsylvania you are coming in on U.S. 11 or dropping off the Cross Valley Expressway.
The nearest customers are the closest thing this shop has to a home crowd. Wyoming Valley West School District is headquartered on North Maple Avenue in Kingston, draws students from nine boroughs, and enrolls roughly 4,900 across six schools. Wyoming Seminary, the private school whose boarders were counted in Kingston’s population when the borough incorporated in 1857, is also in town.
Plenty of people come from much farther. One reviewer on WeddingWire describes the shop as “worth the 1.5 hour trip” — which tells you something about both the draw and the distances people in this part of the state are used to driving for a gown.
