Neshaminy Mall opened in 1968 at U.S. Route 1 and Bristol Road, ran to more than a million square feet, and is now mostly empty. Paramount Realty and Edgewood Properties bought the 91-acre property in July 2024 for $27.5 million. Bensalem’s mayor has said the likely direction is demolishing much of the enclosed building while keeping Boscov’s, Barnes & Noble and the 24-screen AMC. Shoe Carnival closed. Bath & Body Works closed. Prom Rack is one of the few storefronts still open in the concourse, and it sells one thing.
That is the honest frame for a trip here from anywhere in lower Bucks County: you are not going to the mall, you are going to a prom store that happens to be in one. The shop describes itself as an exclusive prom store and lists women’s formal dresses with an emphasis on prom and mother-of-the-bride lines. Its Yelp listing gives 2016 as the year it was established.
Brands and how the floor works

- Amarra — sold only through authorized boutiques, never direct to shoppers, so a style you saw on Amarra’s site has to be found at a store like this one.
- Clarisse
Shoppers who have reviewed the store repeatedly mention the same detail about the racks: you will not find two of the same dress. One reviewer put the consequence plainly — if you love a style and the single piece on the floor is too small, there is no second one to try. Whether that reflects a deliberate one-per-style buy or just how a small independent stocks, it changes how you shop. Call with an Amarra or Clarisse style number before you drive over and ask whether it is on the floor and in what size, rather than arriving with a screenshot and hoping.
Who this store is close to
Prom Rack’s own posts tag Neshaminy High School, Bensalem High School and Philadelphia high schools, which matches the geography. The mall sits on Route 1 a few minutes from the city line, so its trade area is really two things at once: Bensalem and the Neshaminy district on the Bucks County side, and Northeast Philadelphia on the other. SEPTA routes 14, 58, 128 and 130 and Boulevard Direct all serve the mall, which matters for a junior without a car. For everyone else, the mall’s emptiness has one practical upside: roughly 7,000 parking spaces and almost no competition for them.
Shop earlier than you think. Bensalem’s junior prom has landed in mid-March on the district calendar, which pulls serious dress shopping in this corner of Bucks County back into January and February — well before the April and May senior proms.
