The listing says 148 E. Main Street, Suite 103. The door you actually walk through is on Hampton Street, around the corner. The store says so on its own site, and it is worth knowing before a Saturday appointment, because looking for a Main Street storefront will cost you ten minutes. Street parking is on Main, Hampton, or Black.
Edith Lane is new to this block. It held its soft opening on December 9, 2025, after spending the weekend before at ChristmasVille — a booth at North Pole Nights on the Saturday, petits fours and an open house on the Sunday. It is run by a mother and daughter, April and McKenzie, and named for the women in their family who came before them.
What the prom racks actually are
Three prom-and-pageant labels list this store on their official retailer locators: Alyce Paris, Ashley Lauren, and Jessica Angel. Prom and pageant is one of four appointment types the boutique books, alongside bridal, bridesmaids and mothers, and evening and gala. The store publishes a bridal range of $500 to $2,500 and says prom, pageant, and evening prices vary by designer and season, which means the only reliable way to find out what a given gown costs is to call (803) 992-3397 or ask at the appointment.
Before you go
- Appointments are the norm, though the store says prom and pageant browsing can be walk-in friendly depending on the season. If you are driving in from York or Clover, call first.
- Walk-in hours are Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday are appointment-only. Closed Monday.
- Plan on 60 to 90 minutes. The store asks that you bring no more than three or four people.
- Bring the shoes you expect to wear, or something close in height, plus inspiration photos.
- All gowns are final sale. Alterations are referred out to local seamstresses rather than done in house.
- Veils, jewelry, and other accessories are stocked; ask, since they are not on the floor by default.
Who shops here
Rock Hill’s own three comprehensive high schools are all inside the city: Northwestern on West Main, South Pointe on Neely Road, and Rock Hill High on West Springdale. That is a large junior and senior class base within fifteen minutes of this door, and it is the closest formalwear option to downtown for any of them. The store describes its own trade area as York County, Fort Mill, and beyond — which in this part of South Carolina means competing with the Charlotte-metro stores up I-77 on convenience rather than on volume.
Old Town runs from the historic downtown out to Winthrop University, so the same walk covers sorority formal and gala shopping as well as prom. The district is walkable and has restaurants, Fountain Park, and the Rock Hill Sports and Event Center in it, which makes a dress appointment easy to build a morning around instead of a trip to a strip center.
Prom day, April 18
The store’s events page lists a prom day on Saturday, April 18, 2026, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with hair and makeup slots and prom mini photo sessions bookable separately. If your school’s prom falls in late April or May, that date is late for buying and early for getting ready — useful if you already have the gown, less so if you are still shopping.
