On the gown side, two brands are confirmed by the manufacturers’ own retailer locators: House of Wu and Tiffany Designs. Tiffany Designs is a prom-and-pageant label. That matters here, because Get Fancy is not only a prom shop — its listing puts pageants, weddings, reunions and corporate events on the same footing, and gives its ladies’ range as S through 3X plus little-girl sizes. A store that keeps that spread on the rack in a town of 3,159 people is doing so because the same customer comes back for a pageant in the fall and a wedding party in June.
The three schools that feed it
Russell County Public Schools runs three high schools, all of them small. Lebanon High, on Charles C Long Drive about two miles from the store, enrolled 606 students across grades 8–12 in 2022–23. Honaker High, twenty minutes north, enrolled 456. Castlewood High sits west of town off US 58. The two closest are close enough to be genuine rivals; their season-opening football game is known locally as the Coal Bowl.
Junior and senior classes at these schools run near a hundred students each. That is the practical argument for shopping in Lebanon rather than online: at that scale, duplicate dresses are not a hypothetical, and a shop that sells to all three schools out of one room knows what has already walked out the door. Ask before you fall in love with something.
Where it sits, and what the alternatives cost you
Lebanon is the county seat of Russell County, in the coalfield end of Southwest Virginia, and West Main runs through the courthouse block. US 19 is the road everyone takes to get here, whether from Honaker and Rosedale to the north or from Hansonville and the US 58 Alternate junction to the south.
The nearest larger retail is not far by Appalachian standards but it is a real trip. Abingdon is about 21 road miles southeast, roughly a 25-minute drive down US 19. Bristol is about 35 miles, closer to 40 minutes. Neither still has a conventional mall anchor for formalwear the way it once did. For families in Honaker, Castlewood, Rosedale or Dickenson County, Lebanon is the shorter drive and the only one that puts the dress, the tux fitting and the linens for the reception hall on the same block.
Lebanon is also not the depopulated county seat some visitors expect. CGI opened an information-technology center here in 2006 and Northrop Grumman followed with a service center the same year, together adding several hundred office jobs to a town this size. The town calls itself the Heart of Southwest Virginia and is deliberate about its Main Street.
Before you drive over
Two gaps worth knowing about. Get Fancy has no phone number and no website on file with this directory, and the shop’s public presence is a Facebook page under its own name, where new arrivals and prom-season posts appear. Second, this is a single-storefront independent, not a mall tenant with chain hours — confirm the day and time before making the drive from another county, especially in the March–April crush before Russell County proms.
