The shop keeps a page on its own site called Winners Circle, and it reads like a map of the Wiregrass. Miss Slocomb. Teen Miss Skipperville. Miss Cowarts. Miss Ariton, Miss Hartford, Miss Newton, Miss Cottonwood, Teen Miss Houston County, Miss Geneva County, Miss Barbour County, Miss Dothan. Cross the line and the list keeps going — Cottondale and Graceville in the Florida panhandle, Colquitt in southwest Georgia. That list is the most useful thing to know about this store in southeast Alabama before making the drive: it is a pageant boutique that also sells prom, not a prom store that dabbles in pageant.
The claim holds up against outside reporting. Jakia Pearson, listed there as Miss Slocomb 2022, was crowned 2022 Miss National Peanut Festival at the Dothan Civic Center that October; two other names in that year’s top five, Miss Barbour County Ella Grace Bradley and Miss Geneva County Xaira Castillo, also appear on the shop’s client list.
What that means for a prom dress
Three prom labels are confirmed on their brands’ own retailer locators: Sherri Hill, Jovani and Ashley Lauren. The store’s Instagram describes it as a Sherri Hill couture retailer. Its own business listing adds Fernando Wong, a pageant-gown name rather than a prom one, which is consistent with how the racks are split.
The room is not only dresses. The shop describes a hair and makeup team on staff and stocks the professional cosmetics line of makeup artist Clay Spann, whose site it links from its homepage. Earrings and accessories are part of the business. For a prom shopper this cuts both ways: the fitting help is likely to be more exacting than at a department store, and the inventory skews toward gowns built to be seen from a stage under lights.
The spring calendar collision
Peanut Festival prelims and prom fall in the same weeks. The National Peanut Festival — the largest peanut festival in the country, running in Dothan since 1938 — fills its pageant field from qualifying preliminaries in peanut-growing counties of Alabama, Florida and Georgia, and the 2025 preliminary season ran from late February to late April. The Miss Dothan pageant, whose winner goes on to represent the city at the festival, drew 41 contestants to the Civic Center in early April 2024. Alabama proms land in that same stretch. If the goal is a specific dress in a specific size, the last two weeks of March are not the time to start.
That eases up soon. Festival organizers announced in August 2026 that both pageants move to July starting in 2027 — Little Miss on July 17, Miss preliminaries July 23 and finals July 24 — to stop colliding with school and college schedules.
Finding it, and calling first

It sits about half a mile from Wiregrass Commons Mall, on the same run of the Circle as the Montgomery Highway retail cluster, which makes this a straightforward add-on to a shopping trip most families in Houston, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Coffee counties already make. Dothan is the retail center for a wide stretch of southeast Alabama; the next comparable selection is a metro drive away in any direction.
Hours are short and worth confirming by phone at (334) 678-6332. The shop’s Instagram lists weekday afternoons Tuesday through Friday plus Saturday morning to mid-afternoon, and third-party listings disagree on the closing time. There is a further tell about the clientele on the store’s contact page: it lists Dothan Regional Airport, fifteen minutes out, and names four hotels its clients use. People fly in for this.
