That combination is the reason to know about this store: in Alaska, the number of shops stocking a full prom label is small, and this one is a boutique on Abbott Road rather than a dedicated formalwear salon.

The suite number matters more than the street number. The store’s own directions put it on the corner of Abbott Road and Sandalwood, below the Décor Lighting store — not a mall storefront, and not visible from the highway. Service High School’s address is 5577 Abbott Rd, the same street and the same 99507 ZIP code, which makes this the closest gown rack to about 1,500 Cougars.
Hours are the thing to check before driving over. Listings on Yelp and Brighton’s locator both show a noon opening Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. on Saturday, and closed Sunday. That noon start rules out a morning appointment and rules in the hour right after school. The phone is (907) 770-6300. Anchorage prom season runs early
The Anchorage School District publishes one list of prom dates for all its high schools, and the season is front-loaded compared with most of the Lower 48. The district’s spring 2026 list looked like this:

A March 28 prom at Bartlett means shopping in February. Dimond and Eagle River families get three more weeks than Bartlett families do, and Service’s April 4 date falls a week after Bartlett’s, so the same gowns are being picked over on overlapping schedules. Anyone who needs alterations should back up from these dates, not from a national April-or-May assumption.
What else is in town
Anchorage prom shopping is a short list, and it is a list a family can work through in one afternoon. Yelp’s Anchorage prom-dress results put Apricot Lane alongside Fourth Ave Boutique downtown, Orainda’s Bridal Boutique, Dymeonds Bridal, David’s Bridal and consignment shops including The Clothesline. For students in Mat-Su or on the Kenai, all of it is one drive; for anyone off the road system, it is the same flight into Anchorage that brings people in for everything else. Jovani’s own Alaska page notes that Fairbanks and Juneau have no authorized retailer, and that some families do their formalwear shopping on trips to Seattle instead.
