Miha Couture opened in 2022, one of the new storefronts the Village of Orland Park counted that year. It sits at the far southwest edge of town, in the run of retail at Wolf Road and 180th Street that shares its corner with a Jewel-Osco, a Starbucks and a Walgreens. Two people run it, a mother and daughter, and that is how the business describes itself in its own listings: a small team doing personal shopping, eveningwear and bridal out of one room.
The formalwear side of the racks is where a prom shopper will spend her time. The store appears on the official retailer locators for Jovani, Terani and MNM Couture — three labels that overlap heavily at prom and in mother-of-the-bride and evening categories. Dresses are stocked to take home the same day rather than ordered in, and alterations are done in house, which matters when you are buying in March for a May dance. The shop also does custom work and bridal.
How the shop is used
Its own posts tag new arrivals as modest dresses about as often as they tag prom or engagement gowns. That is not styling language borrowed from somewhere else. This part of southwest Cook County — Orland Park, Oak Lawn, Tinley Park, Bridgeview — holds one of the largest and most concentrated Palestinian and Arab American populations in the country, and researchers put the Chicago-area Palestinian community somewhere between 70,000 and 100,000 people. A formalwear shop here that carries long sleeves, higher necklines and covered backs alongside the standard Jovani prom silhouettes is answering real demand from the blocks around it.
Who is driving there
The three Consolidated High School District 230 campuses are the anchor. Carl Sandburg, on LaGrange Road roughly six miles north, is the largest at about 2,840 students in 2024–25 and draws from Orland Park, Tinley Park and Oak Forest. Victor J. Andrew, on 171st Street in Tinley Park, is about three miles east with around 2,213 students. Amos Alonzo Stagg, in Palos Hills, is the third.
Getting there is a specific piece of local knowledge: Wolf Road crosses over Interstate 80 south of the store but has no interchange, and Orland Park has been studying one for years. Coming from Mokena, Frankfort or New Lenox, you exit at LaGrange Road (US 45) and come back west on 179th or 183rd. Metra’s SouthWest Service stops at 179th Street and Southwest Highway, just east, but this is a car errand.
This is not the only dress store within reach, and no one should pretend otherwise. Orland Park has upward of a dozen bridal and formalwear shops, from David’s Bridal to Eva’s Bridals International to Timeless Dresses on 147th Street, and Orland Square Mall — 148 stores at 151st and LaGrange — is five or six miles up the road. What a small single-room boutique offers against that is a smaller rack, someone who knows what is on it, and a hem measured by the person who sold you the dress.
