4120 Cleveland Avenue is US 41. The address on the far side of the pavement, 4125, is Edison Mall — open since 1965 and about 1.05 million square feet, the only enclosed super-regional mall in Fort Myers, anchored by Macy’s, Dillard’s and JCPenney at the US 41 and Colonial Boulevard intersection. That makes Jeannine’s Bridal & Formalwear one of the few independent gown shops in the state where a family can look at department-store racks and a designer prom stock on the same trip, without moving the car.
The shop is not prom-only. Its own site keeps standing collections for bridal, bridesmaids, flower girl, mothers, prom and party, homecoming, and quinceañera, plus an alterations department. Four prom labels are confirmed through the brands’ own retailer locators: Alyce Paris, Amarra, Jovani and Tiffany Designs. The store’s online prom catalog also filters for Ellie Wilde, Faviana, Panoply, Rachel Allan, Christina Wu Prom and Colette by Daphne.
Sizes and the sewing room
The size filter on the prom catalog runs 000 through 32, with 12W to 24W listed separately. The alterations page states the shop keeps plus, petite and extra-length formal and prom dresses in the building, and that its seamstresses can add sleeves or rework a neckline rather than just take in seams. It also takes in dresses bought somewhere else, which is the practical reason to know this address if the gown came from the mall across the street or from an online order that arrived four inches too long.

Fort Myers High School sits at 2635 Cortez Boulevard, in the same 33901 ZIP code as the store, a short run north on Cleveland from the mall corner. Cypress Lake High School and its Center for the Arts is south on Panther Lane; Riverdale is out on Buckingham Road east of town. Dunbar, South Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, Ida S. Baker, Mariner, Island Coast, Estero, Gateway, East Lee County and Lehigh Senior are all in the same Lee County district, which means one shop on US 41 can be drawing from Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres and Estero in the same afternoon.
Quinceañera gowns are a permanent department here, not a special order, and that reflects the trade area. Lehigh Acres, roughly twenty minutes east on State Road 82, is about 46 percent Hispanic or Latino by Census figures, and nearly a third of its residents were born outside the United States. A shop that stocks quince gowns, mothers’ dresses and prom in the same room is often handling two or three events for one family in a year.

By the shop’s own account in its business listings, it has been operating in Southwest Florida since 1997. Fort Myers has other options, including a David’s Bridal and several smaller independents, and the next real cluster of formalwear boutiques is south in Naples. What separates this one is the corner it sits on and the sewing room behind the racks.
