Older directory listings still send people to 28 Liberty Street. The shop’s own site, the city’s downtown guide and Carroll County Tourism all list it at 30 West Main Street, in what LUX calls the Bella Building. Same phone number, same downtown, one block over. Go to Main Street.
What you find there is not a gown warehouse. LUX is an everyday women’s boutique in Carroll County’s county seat — tops, denim from labels like RISEN and KanCan, accessories — that also holds authorized retailer status with two prom houses. Faviana lists this store on its own dealer locator, and so does Alyce Paris. The shop’s Special Event collection adds Alebella alongside those two.
That combination is the useful thing to know before you drive. A Carroll County junior shopping here is walking into a small Main Street storefront where the prom gowns share the floor with the fall sweaters, staffed by a handful of people — the site names Dawn, Anna, Jess and Cassie. It is a short, personal trip, not a two-hour hunt through five hundred bagged dresses. If you want volume, you are going toward Baltimore or Frederick. If you want to try on real Faviana and Alyce Paris styles fifteen minutes from Westminster High, this is the closest option in the county.
Hours, and why February through April matters
LUX is closed Mondays and Tuesdays year-round. The rest of the week, as posted on its own hours page:

The weekend extension is the shop telling you when its formal season runs. Those are the months Carroll County prom shopping happens, and they are the only months the store stays open past mid-afternoon on a Sunday. Outside that window, weekend hours shorten — one page on the site lists 10–3 — so call the number before a Sunday drive from Manchester or Union Bridge.
The online store is worth a look first. Individual gown styles are listed with the sizes still showing as available, which at a shop this size tells you something about what is actually hanging on the rack. Store pickup is offered, and shipping is free over $150.
Who shops here
Carroll County Public Schools runs seven high schools: Westminster, Winters Mill, Century, Francis Scott Key, Liberty, Manchester Valley and South Carroll. Westminster High is the largest and oldest of them and one of the largest in Maryland, and it sits in the same city as this store. That is the practical draw of a downtown gown source in a county where most retail has drifted to the MD 140 corridor and the Town Mall — anyone coming from Eldersburg, Sykesville or Manchester is driving into Westminster anyway.
Downtown Westminster is a nationally accredited Main Street inside a National Historic District, with wide sidewalks and a walkable run of independent shops, so a dress appointment can absorb lunch and errands without moving the car. The Downtown Westminster Farmers Market and the first-Wednesday-of-the-month Westminster Wednesdays events happen on the same few blocks. McDaniel College is up the hill from Main Street, which is part of why the boutique carries formal pieces year-round and not only in prom season.
