In a village of 813 people, one gown shop would be plenty. Three Diamonds runs two rooms instead. Wedding dresses, bridesmaids and flower girl gowns stay at 230 W Saginaw Rd. Prom, homecoming and formalwear are at 26 E Saginaw Rd, Suite 2, under the name Three Diamonds Prom & Formal. The Midland Business Alliance member listing describes the prom address as a second location off the bridal boutique, carrying prom, homecoming and formal event gowns only.
That matters mostly for one practical reason: get the address right before you drive.

Where this is
Sanford sits in Midland County, in Jerome Township, where M-30 meets US-10 northwest of Midland. The village is small and the trade area is not: this is the shop you stop at on the way through, rather than one you make a trip into a city for. MDOT started replacing the M-30 bridge in Sanford in March 2025, so anyone who has driven through recently has already been rerouted at least once.
The nearest high school is Meridian Early College, on North Meridian Road just north of the village, with just under 400 students in grades 9 through 12 out of a Meridian Public Schools enrollment of about 1,374. Past that, everything is a drive: Coleman and Beaverton to the north and northwest, Gladwin farther up M-30, and Midland High, H. H. Dow and Bullock Creek in and around Midland to the southeast. Midland is where the competing prom racks are, at shops like Bliss Bridal. Saginaw’s Fashion Square Mall is the next tier out.

Three Diamonds books by appointment for any shopping occasion and states on its own FAQ that it does not keep standard walk-in business hours, which is worth knowing before showing up on a Saturday afternoon. During prom season the prom shop’s Facebook page has posted open evening hours — billed as “pajama night” — on consecutive Thursdays. Call ahead either way. Owner Hannah Merillat, who was born and raised in Sanford, describes the business as family owned and operated.
The town you’re driving into
Sanford looks newer than a village settled in 1864 should, and there is a reason. On May 19, 2020, the Edenville Dam failed and overwhelmed the Sanford Dam downstream. More than 10,000 people in the region were evacuated, roughly 2,500 homes were damaged or destroyed, businesses were swept out, and four lakes drained. Sanford was hit hardest. In the years since, businesses have reopened and new ones have arrived downtown; the village’s own shorthand for it has been “Sanford Rising.” Construction on the Sanford Dam was still underway in 2025, with a new spillway built and an auxiliary spillway going in, and the lakes have not come back yet. Sanford Lake Park is a few minutes from the store, but the lake it was named for is still empty.
