Where to Buy Ellie Wilde Prom Dresses

The full run is 00 to 24. Few styles use all of it. In a typical new collection, a bit under half the styles stop at 16, and the rest split fairly evenly between those that end at 20 and those that reach 24. So at an 18 or 20 you can still choose from a little over half the new styles. At 22 or 24, it is about a quarter. Find the style first, then confirm its size run with the shop.

Some shops warn that Ellie Wilde "has its own unique sizing," so your usual store size is only a starting point. The fitting room settles it. Try the gown on and let the shop call the size.

The brand's fit advice comes down to two things. If you land between two sizes, order "the size larger" and tailor it down. And plan on alterations anyway: in the brand's words, "most gowns will require alterations regardless of measurements."

Ellie Wilde has no separate plus line. The bigger sizes are folded into the regular collection. Some shops still group them, as Andrea's Prom & Bridal in Jackson, Ohio, does with an Ellie Wilde Plus tab.

The tagline is "Prom Dresses For Those Who Live Wilde." The fabric lists back it up. In a typical collection about two in three new styles list stone accents and more than half list beading, with lace appliqué, glitter tulle, sequins and satin-faced jersey behind them. Mermaid is the lead shape, at more than four in ten styles. A-lines come next, then ball gowns, then fit-and-flare cuts.

Then there is Supernova. These gowns are cut from a light-reflective fabric that reads as ordinary sparkle across a room. The brand says the effect "comes to life when direct light hits it in a darkened environment," which in practice means a camera flash. Under it, the dress flashes into color in photos, right when a prom look gets the most attention. The first Supernova styles, EW35701 and EW35704, came out in Spring 2024, and the group has carried on in later lines. Ask a shop which Supernova styles it can pull, then try one under a phone flash in the fitting room.

Every Ellie Wilde style has a number that starts with EW, such as EW38010. Save that number, not just a screenshot. It is how a shop looks up the color and size runs, and how you match a dress you saved to the one on the rack.

Want to try a lot of styles at once? Ask your shop whether it is hosting an Ellie Wilde trunk show. The brand describes these as events held at its retailers "where you can try on our latest collections."

Returns follow the shop. Mon Cheri says each store is independently owned and writes its own rules, and the company has no say over them. Get the policy in writing, and ask for an expected arrival date on any special order before you pay a deposit.

Each collection is named for the spring it serves and lands the fall before. New styles usually go up in October or November, shown alongside a group of holdovers from earlier seasons. The pattern has held for years: new lines arrived in October 2022, October 2024 and November 2025. By late fall, the new season is ready to order.

Start with the Ellie Wilde store locator, and check any seller against it. Mon Cheri says it "is not associated with any Internet selling service and only distributes through authorized retailers." Buy outside that network and, the company warns, there is a strong possibility you won't get an authentic dress. Nor will it alter, correct or fix a gown that came from one of those sellers.

The photos are not proof. Counterfeit sellers often lift a maker's own dress photos to sell knockoffs, so a fake site can show you the real dress. Only the seller tells you what will arrive.

Buying secondhand? Ask for the EW style number and the store it came from, then compare the dress with the photos on the brand's own product page for that style. If the seller can't name either, treat the price as the only thing you know.

Ellie Wilde is a party-dress line from a wedding gown house. Mon Cheri Bridals was formed in July 1991, and Stephen Lang is its CEO. Its own list puts Ellie Wilde and Colette by Daphne under prom, beside bridal names like Sophia Tolli and Martin Thornburg. The company says it runs more than twenty special occasion lines worldwide.

The 2016 launch release, datelined Trenton, promised mermaid dresses and ball gowns inspired by the couture runway, from a designer who had joined Mon Cheri from Marchesa. That designer went unnamed. Evelyn Jia is the one the brand credits today. The ELLIE WILDE trademark was registered in March 2019 for prom gowns and evening dresses.

What you won't find is a celebrity roster. We found no verified red-carpet wearers, pageant deals or press features for Ellie Wilde, and the brand doesn't claim any. Its pitch is the dress itself, flash photos included.
