Four designers. One appointment. A parent in the room. That is the prom formula at Dress Your Fancy, and it is a deliberate one. The boutique on Vestal Parkway East doesn't do walk-in browsing for gowns; every visit is booked ahead, and the prom racks are built around a short list of labels the shop chose on purpose: Jovani, Ellie Wilde, Ashley Lauren and Colette.
The store's own prom page sums up the mix as running from "the show-stopping glamour of Jovani" through the trend-setting Ellie Wilde line to Colette's sleeker, modern side. If your group chat already has a Pinterest board going, that range covers most of it.
How a prom visit actually runs
Shelly Howell founded Dress Your Fancy in 2006 in Greene, up in Chenango County, before the shop settled in Vestal. That history explains the regulars. Families from both Broome and Chenango counties still make the trip, and in this part of the Southern Tier of New York that means seniors from Vestal High School and Union-Endicott, along with Maine-Endwell, Owego Free Academy and Greene itself.

Every one needs a debit or credit card on file.
Late changes
Cancel or reschedule with less than 48 hours of notice, or skip it entirely, and non-bridal appointments carry a $25 fee.
Your party
Prom shoppers come with a parent or guardian, and the party tops out at four guests.
Pricing
Formal gowns start at $400, and in-store prices follow each designer's MSRP because the shop is an authorized retailer.

For a prom shopper, the upshot is simple. Your measurements get taken by someone who does this all spring, and the dress you order is the dress the designer actually made.
Alterations without a second errand
Hemming a Jovani for the heels you will actually wear is half the battle. Dress Your Fancy partners with local seamstresses who have years of bridal experience, gets the process started, and then you work with the seamstress directly. Many of them work right inside the boutique, so the fitting often happens in the same building where you bought the gown. Scheduling runs on the seamstress's calendar, which is the best argument for booking your prom appointment early instead of in the last frantic weeks.
