Glitz has sold formalwear in Nashville since 1996, and the homepage puts that year right in its banner. The prom shop is in Suite 112 at 5300 Centennial Boulevard, on the west side of town. Its appointment page opens with the claim an Ellie Wilde fan will care about most. Glitz holds that label's exclusive collection in Middle Tennessee, which the store describes as access to styles shoppers won't find anywhere else in the region.
Ann Miller's woman-owned shop on Centennial Boulevard
Ann Miller owns and operates Glitz. The homepage describes a small, woman-owned Nashville business run by women, with stylists who know the dresses and know the designers. The prom location page aims higher and ranks Glitz among the largest and most well-known formal wear stores in the Southeast. The About page adds that it carries one of the largest selections of top designers in Nashville. Those rankings are the store's, not ours.
The local press has noticed the name. In a 2025 City Cast Nashville guide to cheaper prom options, writer Margaret Kingsbury listed Glitz among "Nashville's most popular prom stores." The store adds that girls drive in from Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia to shop its fitting rooms.
The address is newer than the business. By the appointment page's account, the store began taking appointments at this location in January 2026, and the prom store lists Suite 112 on Centennial. Brides have a separate salon, Brides by Glitz, in Unit 109 at the same address, and it works by appointment only.

The prom section of the store's website files its gowns under twelve designers: Sherri Hill, Jovani, Ashley Lauren, Portia & Scarlett, Ellie Wilde, Alyce Paris, Ava Presley, Rachel Allan, La Femme, Colette by Daphne (Colette), Terani and Tarik Ediz. Homecoming draws on eight of those names. The social occasion racks lean on Jovani, Terani, Alyce Paris and Portia & Scarlett for galas and black-tie weddings.
Sherri Hill gets the most attention. It sits first in every menu on the site. Ellie Wilde is the reason to make the drive if you want a look your classmates are less likely to have found at another Middle Tennessee shop.
What a Glitz gown costs, and how fast you can have it
The appointment page puts dress prices at $400 to $2,300, with most dresses between $400 and $900. The FAQ gives a slightly lower spread, about $350 to $1,500, with an average of $400 to $700. Either way, a budget in the mid hundreds lands you in the heart of the racks.

Sizes vary by page too. The FAQ says 000 to 24. The appointment page says 000 to 28 in store, and the prom size filters online run to 32, with women's sizes from 12W to 24W. If you wear the far ends of that scale, ask a stylist what is hanging in your size before you fall for a sample.
Every formal gown on the floor can be bought off the rack and carried out that day. Want a different color or size? Glitz will special order it, depending on what the designer has. A style the designer has in stock usually reaches the store in 7 to 10 business days, and one that isn't can take up to 3 to 4 months. Special orders need at least half down, and the balance is due within 10 days of the dress arriving.

A floor dress is paid in full at purchase unless you use layaway. That plan takes 50% down and gives you 60 days to pay off the rest. Layaway items are final sale with no in-store credit, and the FAQ is clear that every sale is final, with no refunds or exchanges.
Glitz doesn't rent dresses, and it doesn't rent suits or tuxedos, so your date will need to sort that out elsewhere. Alterations aren't done in house either. Ask for the store's preferred list of seamstresses in Middle Tennessee.
Walk in, or reserve 75 minutes with a stylist
You don't need an appointment for prom. The homepage welcomes walk-ins for prom, homecoming, pageant and social occasion shopping. The store still recommends booking a Styling Session if you are coming from out of town or want to skip the line on a busy weekend, and slots are limited in peak season.
A Styling Session lasts 75 minutes with a consultant working one on one. The rules are firm. Only one client, the person trying on dresses, counts per booking. Anyone else who wants to shop goes into the waiting queue on arrival, because the store has had trouble, it explains, with several girls sharing a single appointment. On weekends and holidays each shopper can bring no more than two guests, due to space. Your stylist is ready at your booked time and not before, so arriving an hour early only means waiting, and a late start is not extended.
Cancel at least 24 hours ahead for a full refund, and you also get a refund if bad weather closes the store. Appointments on Martin Luther King Jr. Day cost $50. Shoppers under 18 need verbal consent from a parent or guardian to buy, so keep someone reachable by phone if a parent isn't along. The FAQ asks that you wear undergarments while trying on, and that is all you need to bring.
Plan around the calendar. Glitz is open 10 to 6 on Monday and Wednesday through Friday, 10 to 4 on Saturday, and closed Tuesday and Sunday. Centennial Boulevard runs through the west side between the Cumberland River and Charlotte Pike, so it is a manageable trip from most of Davidson County and from Williamson County to the south.
