Start with the name, because it will decide whether the drive works. The gown-and-tuxedo store in this Clemmons shopping center was Hip Chics Prom & Formal Wear and Village Tuxedo, a second storefront that Hip Chics ran across the parking lot from its original boutique at the same 2668 address. DavieLiFE reported in December 2024 that the space formerly occupied by Hip Chics Formalwear and Village Tuxedo had become Walker Lane Dress & Tux. Same unit, same phone line: (336) 602-1714. The (336) 766-8122 number that still travels with the Hip Chics listing was the boutique’s line, not the prom store’s.
The owner is Caroline Bandy Walker, who grew up in Davie County, graduated from Davie County High School in 2017 and from NC State in 2021, and worked as a model and sales associate at Hip Chics Boutique and Hip Chics Formalwear under owner Kristina Prysiazniuk before opening her own shop in that same room. That matters more than a rebrand usually does: the staff knowledge did not move out of the building.
