Grayce Bridal & Formal on Hamilton Place Blvd: closed Saturdays, open Sundays

Prom and formal at Hamilton Place: in-stock gowns $399-$899 in sizes 000-28, 14 fitting rooms and a runway. Closed Saturdays, open Sundays 10-4.

Est. 2022

The one thing to know before driving out here is the schedule. Grayce is closed on Saturday, the day most families assume they’ll go dress shopping. The store’s own FAQ says the closure is for religious reasons and to give staff a day with their families, and that Sundays have turned out to be the busier day anyway. Sunday hours are 10 to 4, with later Sunday appointments available until 6. Wednesday is the other closed day.

For prom and formal, you don’t need an appointment. That part of the store is walk-in during regular hours. Appointments are preferred for bridal and mothers’ dresses, where a stylist and a private suite get held for you.

The building and the formal floor

This is the old Pier 1 building at 2130 Hamilton Place Blvd, a freestanding 10,000-square-foot store with its own lot, not a storefront inside the mall. It opened July 31, 2022, as the fourth location of Grayce, a company that started in Maine and still runs stores in Bangor and South Portland. The Hamilton Place retail area sits where I-75 meets Shallowford Road, and CBL, which owns the mall, describes the trade area as nine Tennessee counties plus parts of north Georgia and northeast Alabama.

The formal department has 14 fitting rooms and a runway with large mirrors. In-stock prom, pageant and evening gowns run $399 to $899, in sizes 000 to 28, with special orders available in whatever size a designer offers. Homecoming dresses are a separate, cheaper rack: $60 to $300, sizes 0 to 24, orderable up to 32. There is also a discounted off-the-rack selection that turns over constantly.

Jovani, Sherri Hill and Terani all list this store on their official retailer locators, and Ellie Wilde lists it as well. The store also carries its own private-label line, Ana Sophia Occasions. Not every style from any of these labels is on the floor at a given time.

Grayce keeps a prom registry, logging dresses against the buyer’s school so two girls don’t arrive at the same dance in the same gown. If you go to a school where that matters, ask about it when you check out.

Timing, if you’re local

Hamilton County proms land early. East Hamilton sold tickets for its 2026 prom through March 27, and the district calendar puts spring break in late March, which means the shopping crunch here is January through early March, not April. Grayce has run its Chattanooga spring-break prom promotion in mid-March while running the Maine version of the same event in April.

The schools closest to this address are the ones on the east side of the county: East Hamilton and Ooltewah, Central over in Harrison, East Ridge, Tyner, Brainerd. Students coming from Catoosa or Walker County in Georgia are on I-75 north for about fifteen minutes; from Cleveland it’s the same interstate, southbound.

Two corrections to older listings you may run across: Grayce stopped offering tuxedo and suit rentals as of September 2026, so this is a dresses-only stop now. And if you are comparing options in the same few blocks, Windsor is inside Hamilton Place mall and David’s Bridal is on Gunbarrel Road, about a mile west.
