The business is young — it started in September 2020 — but the person running it is not new to this. On her own Yelp listing, the owner describes more than 25 years in the bridal industry before opening Temaja’s, including stints as a stylist and manager at Alfred Angelo, Bride Beautiful and Rashawn Rose. That history is the useful thing to know about this store. It is a one-room operation in Suite A103, not a chain outpost, and the person pulling gowns off the rack has done it for a couple of decades somewhere else first.
For prom, three labels list Temaja’s on their official retailer locators: Clarisse, Dave & Johnny and Tiffany Designs. The shop is also a Jim’s Formal Wear affiliate, so tuxedo rentals are handled in the same room as the dresses — which matters if a couple would rather make one trip than two. Alterations are done in house by appointment, and the shop refers out to local seamstresses when it can’t take the work.
Who shops here
Killeen ISD is one of the larger districts in Central Texas, and its five comprehensive high schools each hold their own prom. Enrollment as reported by the Texas Tribune’s schools explorer:

That is roughly 9,900 students across five campuses, plus the Early College high school at just under 1,000. A single independent shop is not going to dress all of them, and Temaja’s doesn’t pretend to; it carries three prom lines, which is three more than most of the general-merchandise stores in town.
The alternative is an hour of driving
Killeen sits against Fort Cavazos, home of III Armored Corps and the 1st Cavalry Division, with more than 34,000 active-duty soldiers assigned. The post is about 60 miles from both Austin and Waco. So the practical choice for a Killeen family shopping prom is a shop here in town or a two-hour round trip to a mall in one of those two cities. For a teenager who needs a second fitting after alterations, that distance is the whole argument.

Temaja’s works by appointment, and the website has a request form for booking. Published hours have weekdays opening late morning and Saturdays opening in the afternoon, but hours move around during prom and wedding season, so it is worth calling (254) 432-7795 rather than turning up cold. Expect a bridal shop with a prom season inside it — brides are being fitted in the same space, which is part of why appointments are the norm here.
