Annapolis Street is the main shopping street of West Annapolis. It’s a few blocks of storefronts with houses right behind them. You reach it off Rowe Boulevard, the short state highway that carries US 50 traffic down into downtown Annapolis. Curb parking on the block falls under the city’s residential permit rules. Read the signs rather than counting on a lot.
The prom side of a bridal-first shop
The prom and pageant labels here are Jovani, La Femme and Terani. All three designers list the shop as one of their retailers. The shop also carries homecoming and quinceañera dresses, mother-of-the-bride gowns, shoes and jewelry. Alterations and custom work are done in house, so you won’t be sent elsewhere. The staff speak Spanish.
Know this before you go: it’s a wedding gown salon first. The store describes the space as appointment-only, and bridal bookings are required. Hours are 10 to 6 Monday through Friday, 9 to 4 Saturday and 9 to 3 Sunday. A Sunday morning opening is rare for a shop like this. It helps if a weekday drive is hard for you. Call or text before you come. It’s a small storefront, and the fitting rooms fill up.
Who ends up here
Several Anne Arundel County public high schools sit within an easy drive of West Annapolis. They include Annapolis High, Broadneck on Green Holly Drive and Severna Park. South River in Edgewater, Arundel in Gambrills and Old Mill in Millersville are in range too. St. Mary’s, the Catholic school on Duke of Gloucester Street, is a few minutes away downtown. Severna Park and Broadneck are each other’s listed rival. Their prom shoppers work through the same short list of local salons each spring. So ask what has already sold to your school before you commit to a Jovani style everyone will recognize.
