Nobody wanders into Memories Bridal by Reem on a whim. The Ridgefield salon works strictly by appointment, and its FAQ answers the question in a single word: yes. Each appointment runs an hour and fifteen minutes. Booking costs nothing. Skip it without warning, though, and there is a $50 no-show fee, which goes away if you cancel at least 48 hours ahead.
For a prom shopper used to hopping between stores on a Saturday, that can feel strict. It is also the whole appeal. The hour and fifteen minutes belongs to you and the people you bring, and the shop's request form is built to make that hour count.

What the prom racks hold
The store's online prom collection runs to dozens of pages, and the designer filter names four labels:

In practice that means sending the style number with your request. If you found the dress on Instagram or on a designer's site, put it in the notes field. The appointment then starts with the gown you came for, not a hunt for it.
Alterations happen on site, a bigger deal for prom than it sounds. The FAQ is just as clear that the shop does not alter gowns bought elsewhere, so plan on fitting and hemming the dress you buy here. Among the testimonials Reem posts, one praises "a great selection of evening gowns," and another notes that Reem keeps a rotated stock, so things are always moving. Keep both in mind if you visited last year and are coming back for senior prom.
Finishing touches are part of the visit too. The store keeps an accessories collection, and one shopper who found a red gown there wrote on the testimonials page that there were lots of accessories to choose from. Bring your shoes, or at least the heel height you plan to wear, so the hem is set right the first time.
The woman behind the name
Reem's story is the classic retail climb. According to the About page, she started in the business at 19 as a salesgirl and quickly became manager of a former bridal store, Rebas Bridal, before opening a boutique of her own. She has spent decades reading silhouettes and fitting gowns, and the salon reflects it. The shop is bridal at its core (brides and mothers keep the fitting rooms busy), but the site says outright that it also dresses wedding guests, sweet 16 girls and prom girls, with alterations for the perfect fit.
That bridal background helps a prom shopper, too. The consultants here are used to long fittings, structured gowns and detailed alterations, and they do not rush.
Ridgefield and the Route 63 schools
The salon sits on Bergen Boulevard, the stretch of State Route 63 that ties together Ridgefield, Palisades Park and Fort Lee, in the dense southeastern corner of Bergen County, New Jersey. High schools sit close together here. Ridgefield Memorial High School is the hometown school, and Palisades Park, Cliffside Park, Fort Lee, Leonia and Ridgefield Park high schools are in the surrounding towns. North Bergen High School, one of the bigger public schools in Hudson County, is just over the county line. Add Bergen County Academies in Hackensack and you have a trade area where prom season stacks up quickly from March through June.
That density is exactly why the appointment model works. If your prom is in May or June, request a time in the winter and leave room for alterations before the dance.
