Keystone Central School District covers roughly 1,048 square miles across Clinton, Centre and Potter counties — the biggest public district by land area in Pennsylvania. That is the trade area a Lock Haven dress shop serves. A junior at Central Mountain High School in Mill Hall is a few minutes away; a junior at Bucktail, up the West Branch in Renovo, is in the same district and nowhere near as close to anything.
Luxe and Lace opened in January 2025 and bills itself as the county’s only single stop for wedding gowns, prom dresses and tuxedo rentals. For prom, that combination is the practical argument: a couple can get the gown and the rental in one trip instead of splitting the errand between Lock Haven and Williamsport.
Go to Main Street, not Bellefonte Avenue
The shop started at 123 Bellefonte Ave, in the space that had been Liberty Tax Service. It now operates from 134 E. Main St. in downtown Lock Haven, and that is the address on its own website, its Instagram and its brand listings. Older directory entries — including some that still circulate — send you to the Bellefonte Avenue storefront. The number the store publishes is 570-263-7041.
What’s on the racks
Two prom labels are confirmed through the designers’ own retailer locators: Alyce Paris and Amarra. Both sell only through authorized stores, so their websites work as catalogs — find a style number, then ask whether it can be ordered or is already in stock here.
The store sells both ways, and the timing difference matters more than anything else about a prom trip:
- Off the rack. Buy it and carry it out the same day.
- Special order. The store describes many gowns as arriving in three to four months, with rush orders as fast as about eight weeks.
Work backward from your prom date. If you are inside two months and want a specific style, you are shopping what is physically in the building.
The tux side
Tuxedo rentals get their own fitting area, which the shop calls the Tux Cave. It is a small detail with a real consequence: the guy in the group does not have to be measured in a room full of gowns, and the whole party can be handled in one appointment.
Before you drive
Hours here are not mall hours. Midweek, the store has opened in the late afternoon and evening, with fuller hours Friday through the weekend, and it has shifted to appointment-only weekdays in the summer. It also posts short-notice changes for staffing on its Facebook page. If you are coming from Renovo, Sugar Valley or anywhere else that makes this a real drive, call first and confirm both the hours and whether you need an appointment. Prom season is exactly when a walk-in is most likely to collide with someone else’s scheduled fitting.
