Michele Briggs spent years picturing a single shop for both wedding and prom attire before she ever signed a lease. When The Express profiled her in January 2025, she described working Saturdays at a bridal shop nearly two decades earlier and realizing that was the work she wanted to do someday. Then came two decades in corporate jobs, a stretch between positions, and what she described to the paper as a clear message: open your shop. She did. Luxe and Lace started on Bellefonte Avenue and has since expanded to a 1,500-square-foot showroom on East Main Street, in the heart of downtown Lock Haven.
Brides keep the appointment book busy. Prom is where it gets interesting for families in Clinton County and the towns along the West Branch of the Susquehanna.
A prom lineup that keeps growing
Luxe and Lace is an authorized retail boutique for top national prom and homecoming designers, per its site, and its prom page names four of them: Amarra, Alyce Paris, Colors Dress and Morilee. The descriptions on that page give a quick sense of the range. Amarra is pitched to the shopper who wants to stand out and make a statement. Alyce Paris brings what the shop calls Parisian-inspired elegance and red-carpet glamour to Central PA. Colors leans into bold palettes and sparkle that looks great under the lights. Morilee, designed by Madeline Gardner, covers classic glamour and fairytale ball gowns.
More is on the way. For Prom 2027, the shop is adding two new designers, Juliet and Aerie Couture, with collections arriving in November and December. Shoppers can sign up on the site for first dibs when the dresses land.
Briggs summed up the prom floor for The Express this way: "We have everything from plain and simple to glitz and glamour. Feathers, sequins, you name it, we have it and our price point is spectacular." The same January 2025 profile put figures on the prom floor.

That promise carries more weight here than it might in a big metro, because the shop draws from a wide circle. How the shop runs
Luxe and Lace is a small, one-client-at-a-time boutique, and its policies are spelled out on the site. These are the ones a prom shopper will run into.
Appointments
Never required, but encouraged. Walk-ins are welcome when the doors are open, unless a private appointment is in progress.
