Delta-B Formalwear started with prom instead of growing into it. Its site introduces it as a formalwear store that "specializes in prom and homecoming dresses," and it has no bridal floor competing for space, no tuxedo wall, and no wedding calendar setting the pace. Every rack is aimed at the dance.
The founding story is told by owner Stephanie Norton on the shop's About page, and she keeps it short. She grew up in Ranburne, Alabama, spent her whole life coming to Carrollton to shop, and became a resident after marrying in 2021. Then, early one morning, she says, she woke with the sense that there was not a prom dress shop in the Carrollton area. She and her husband went to work on the idea. Norton is an Auburn-trained engineer by trade, so retail was a new road for her, and she says as much. The shop's mission statement sets the tone for what she built.

That focus is the reason to put Delta-B on your list if you are shopping for a dance anywhere in west Georgia. The store sits in Suite B-25 of First Tuesday Center, the shopping center on Bankhead Highway a few minutes outside downtown Carrollton.
Designer gowns, budget in mind
The store's pitch has two halves, and it states both. It carries "High End Designer Dresses," and it wants those dresses at "prices for every budget." The About page goes further, saying the goal is beautiful designer dresses at affordable prices, in sizes and styles for every body type.
The designer page names six labels. Four have pages on this site: Amarra, Clarisse, Faviana and Portia and Scarlett. The other two are Nox Anabel and Juliet. It is a smart mix for a prom shop. Amarra and Portia and Scarlett bring the beading and drama. Faviana and Clarisse cover a wide band of silhouettes and price points. Nox Anabel and Juliet round out the floor with more choices in between.
Homecoming gets equal billing with prom, and in Carroll County that counts. Carroll County schools crown courts in the fall, and a shop that treats homecoming as a full season is one less reason to drive toward Douglasville or Atlanta.

The pull is countywide. Carrollton High School and Central High School are the closest schools, with Villa Rica, Temple, Bowdon and Mount Zion high schools spread across the rest of Carroll County. Heard County High School in Franklin, one county to the south, rounds out the map. Norton's own roots point west, across the Alabama line, and she grew up making the drive into Carrollton to shop herself.
