Sort out the address before anyone gets in the car. The shop’s own contact page and Jovani’s authorized-retailer locator both list 1029 Waukegan Road in Glenview. Older listings — the store’s Facebook page, its Better Business Bureau file, one of Jovani’s own secondary sites — still carry 1520 E Lake Avenue. Both addresses sit in the same corner of town; the village’s downtown plan defines the Waukegan Road stretch of the district as running from East Lake Avenue south to Henley Street. The phone number has not changed: (847) 729-5110. Use it first.
What is actually on the floor
Gigi’s no longer does bridal. The store says so plainly on its About page, and describes the current business as mothers of the bride and groom, black tie, prom and graduation, bat mitzvah dresses, suits, party dresses and casual clothing. For prom, three labels are confirmed through the brands’ own retailer locators: Alyce Paris, Jovani and Mac Duggal.
Prices in the room cover real ground. Jovani gowns posted on the shop’s own website have listed at $590 and $849; a plainer short dress shows at $99. The store says some of its designers run sizes 00 to 30, and that most dresses can either be taken off the floor or special ordered.
The hours are the planning constraint, not the inventory. Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed Sunday and Monday, with a request on the site to call about appointments. That leaves exactly one weekend day, which fills up fast in February and March. If a gown has to be ordered rather than carried out, ask about the timeline on the first phone call, not at the first fitting.
One trip can also cover two people. The same floor holds prom gowns and mother-of-the-bride dresses, which is the point of a shop that has been in the family since Dorothy opened Dorothy’s of Wilmette in 1952 and then opened Gigi’s in 1974. By the store’s account, some families have been shopping it across generations.
The calendar this shop works against
Glenbrook South is the closest big feeder, a few miles west at 4000 W Lake Avenue with roughly 2,900 students. Its 2026 prom is set for Saturday, May 16 at Pinstripes in Northbrook, 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Turnabout came back on February 28 in the Titan Dome after a two-year gap, at $10 a ticket, which puts a second dress occasion back in the winter for South families. New Trier, over in Winnetka, holds prom on April 18 — nearly a month earlier, so the two schools’ shopping waves do not sit on top of each other.

Getting there, and what else is close
Glenview sits between the Edens Expressway and the Tri-State Tollway, about 20 miles north of downtown Chicago, and this address is on Waukegan Road itself, a wide arterial rather than a walkable retail block. The downtown Metra station on Depot Street, on the Milwaukee District North line into Union Station, is in the same district if someone is coming out from the city.
If the racks here come up short, Jovani’s Illinois page names its nearest other authorized stores as Vanessa’s Modern Bride on West Campbell Street in Arlington Heights and Omaima Couture on North Milwaukee Avenue in Niles. Neither is far, but each is a separate trip, which is an argument for calling ahead with style numbers before spending a Saturday on it.
