Faulkenbery’s of Ruston: a Mississippi prom and pageant chain on the I-20 service road

A Mississippi prom-and-pageant chain put its third store on Ruston’s I-20 service road, stocking Sherri Hill, Tarik Ediz, Ashley Lauren and Johnathan Kayne.

The address is the first useful fact. 209 North Service Road East is the frontage road running alongside Interstate 20 through Ruston, not the downtown square and not a shopping center built for people already in town. A gown store on that stretch is set up for families who get in the car in another parish and come off the interstate for the afternoon.

This is also a young store. Faulkenbery’s is a Mississippi company: the main store is at 1018 Range Avenue in Philadelphia, Mississippi, with a separate bridal shop a few streets over on Pecan Avenue and another location in Selmer, Tennessee. Product pages on the company site have carried a banner calling Ruston “Location #3,” opening late 2024. So the operation behind the counter has years on it; the north Louisiana address does not.

Brands confirmed at the Ruston store

These five labels list the Ruston location on their own official retailer locators:

  • Sherri Hill
  • Tarik Ediz
  • Ashley Lauren
  • Johnathan Kayne
  • Tiffany Designs

That is a couture-leaning prom and pageant lineup rather than a general formalwear mix. The company’s website catalog runs much wider — homecoming, kids’ pageant, interview wear, mother-of-the-bride, quinceañera, bridal — but that catalog covers every location, so what is physically hanging in Ruston on a given weekend is a phone call, not a website question.

Worth knowing what kind of shop this is: the pageant side is not an afterthought. Interview outfits and children’s pageant gowns are their own categories in the company’s inventory, which is how a store serving an active pageant circuit stocks. The shop’s own Facebook page bills it as the largest prom and pageant store in Louisiana. That is the store’s claim about itself, and nothing independent confirms it.

Who is within driving range

Ruston is the seat of Lincoln Parish and home to Louisiana Tech, with Grambling State a short run west on the same interstate. The parish’s public high schools are small and scattered: Ruston High is by far the biggest at roughly 1,300 students, with Choudrant, Simsboro and Dubach feeding in from the surrounding communities. Monroe sits about 35 miles east on I-20 and Shreveport about 70 miles west, which puts Ruston in the middle of that corridor rather than at the end of it — the service road location makes more sense read that way.

Before driving over

Hours are the one thing to nail down first. The company’s Louisiana contact page lists the store closed Monday, open afternoons Tuesday through Friday and 10 to 3 on Saturday. The store’s own Louisiana Instagram account lists Monday through Friday 11 to 5 and Saturday 10 to 5. Those do not agree. Call (318) 202-3032.

Two other practical notes. The company books Louisiana appointments through a page separate from its Mississippi scheduling, so a general appointment request may not land at the Ruston store. And Faulkenbery’s states that shoppers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent — a teenager cannot drive over and try on gowns alone.
