Brooke Daniels has worked in healthcare for more than 28 years, and she opened Bride and Jewel Co. in October 2023. The shop runs on the kind of scheduling discipline you might expect from someone with a clinic background. Prom here is not a free-for-all on a sales floor. Each shopper gets a booked hour in one of the boutique's private suites, a stylist who checks in, and room to pull gowns herself. The banner across the top of the shop's website calls it the Twin Cities' number one bridal and prom dress shop, and the prom side is set up to back that up.
It is a family-owned boutique, and Daniels says on her About page that she manages it with her daughter. The wedding business is the larger half, with VIP bridal appointments on Sundays, but prom and pageant gowns get their own collection page and their own appointment type, and the suites are shared between the two.
Seven prom labels, sizes 00 to 24
The prom collection covers prom, pageant, evening and mothers' gowns, and the shop is clear about what it skips: no bridesmaid dresses and no homecoming. If a September dance is what you are shopping for, this is a spring store. The designers it lists for prom are:

Prices run from $149.99 to $749.99, and the shop puts the average gown at around $329.99. Sizes go from 00 to 24. New gowns were scheduled to land through January and February of 2026, well ahead of the April and May dances.

Sizing is done by fit rather than by tape measure: the stylists look at how other gowns from the same designer sit on you in the suite, and only measure as a last resort. That is one more reason to try things on in person instead of guessing from a size chart at home.
How the prom hour runs
Bride and Jewel is by appointment only, and the prom appointment costs nothing. One guest comes along as standard. Friends can shop at the same time in neighboring suites, but the number depends on the day, because brides are using rooms too.

Each person books her own slot, and the shop allows only one appointment per person at a time, so a second hour back to back is not an option.
A few house rules come with the suite. Shoes come off at check-in, so wear socks. Show up more than fifteen minutes late and you will be asked to rebook.
Then there is the school question. In a district the size of South Washington County, two girls from Park or East Ridge landing on the same gown is a real possibility, and the shop does keep track of which gowns go to which school. It just will not use that list to turn anyone away. Its prom FAQ lays out the approach in one breathless sentence.
We do, however, we will never refuse to sell a gown to someone if another individual has the same gown in the same color at the same school, we will just make you aware.
So you get the information and make the call yourself.
Payment is due in full at purchase.
Partial payment
The shop will work with shoppers who can put 60% down and pay the rest over one month.

The suites themselves are the draw. Instead of three-way mirrors in a hallway, you get an enclosed room, a parent or friend on the couch, and a stylist who pulls more options based on what you keep reaching for.
Shopping prom in Cottage Grove
The boutique sits on West Point Douglas Road South, the frontage road that runs beside Highway 10 and Highway 61 through the middle of Cottage Grove. Park High School is in town, and East Ridge and Woodbury High are in neighboring Woodbury. The shop lists the communities it serves on its About page, from Hastings and Inver Grove Heights to Stillwater, Oakdale and Maplewood, so shoppers from Hastings High, Tartan in Oakdale and Simley in Inver Grove Heights all fall inside its reach. For anyone in the southeast Twin Cities metro of Minnesota, that means a booked suite without a trip into downtown St. Paul or Minneapolis.

Can my friends and I shop prom at Bride and Jewel at the same time?
On Sundays up to four prom appointments can run together, three on weekdays and usually two on Saturdays. Each friend books her own appointment, and if you need a larger suite for a couple of extra guests, call the shop first.
Does the Cottage Grove shop carry homecoming dresses?
No. The collection is prom, pageant, evening and mothers' gowns. Bridesmaid and homecoming dresses are not stocked.
