This is a wedding store first, and that shapes everything about shopping prom here. The suites that hold prom appointments are the same suites brides use, so the shop caps how many gowns can be tried on at once and books prom in one-hour blocks. Its own prom page allows up to four prom appointments running at the same time on Sundays, three midweek, and two on Saturdays — the number is limited by rooms, not by staff. If four of you want to shop together, that is a phone call, not a click.
The shop is in Suite 100 at 8599 W Point Douglas Rd S, the same building as the Bulletin License Center, which is the Cottage Grove DVS office where a lot of local juniors picked up their driver’s license. The Cottage Grove Area Chamber describes the address as sitting on West Point Douglas between the Allina clinic and the school district complex; South Washington County Schools runs its administration out of 7365 East Point Douglas, the same road a few minutes east. Brooke Daniels owns the store and runs it with her daughter Grace, and it started as an online-only operation before the storefront opened.
What’s on the racks
Clarisse, Jovani and La Femme all list this store as an authorized retailer — and per the shop, La Femme comes in for prom only, not mothers. Its own designer list adds Portia and Scarlett, Nox Anabel, La Divine and Amelia Couture, with mothers’ gowns coming from Amelia Couture, Nox Anabel and La Divine. Sizes run 00 to 24. The stated prom range is $149.99 to $749.99, with the average gown around $329.99.
Two things they do not carry: bridesmaids and homecoming. If your September dress hunt sends you here, it is the wrong stop. Prom, pageant, evening and mothers’ gowns only.
Rules worth knowing before you drive over
- Appointments required, and the prom hour is free. One guest is standard; more than one, call ahead so they can put you in a larger suite.
- Arrive more than fifteen minutes late and they ask you to rebook.
- Shoes come off at check-in. Wear socks.
- All sales are final — no refunds, no exchanges, no holds on gowns.
- Special orders take roughly 1.5 to 3 weeks and carry a $45 shipping charge. Payment is due up front, though they will take 60% down and a one-month plan after that.
- They register gowns by school, but they will not refuse to sell you a duplicate — they will tell you someone at your school has it and let you decide.
For sizing they compare you against gowns already in the store by the same designer rather than measuring first, which is a reason to go in person early rather than trying to translate a size chart from a screen.
Who actually shops here
Park High School, the Wolfpack, is the closest of them — about 1,950 students on 80th Street South. East Ridge in Woodbury is the other District 833 high school and Park’s longtime rival, and the district also pulls from Newport, St. Paul Park, Afton and Grey Cloud Island. Cottage Grove itself is a city of roughly 41,000 strung along Highways 61 and 10 in Washington County, Minnesota, close enough to St. Paul that families from Hastings, Inver Grove Heights and Oakdale are inside a reasonable drive.
The nearest shop doing the same two jobs is Raffiné Bridal up in Woodbury, roughly fifteen minutes north, which also sells prom and says its own prom season runs busiest January through March. Bride and Jewel restocks prom through January and February, which puts the best selection well ahead of a late-spring Minnesota prom date. Come in March and you are shopping what is left on the rack.
