The first thing to know about Rubi Jubi is that you cannot wander in. The shop describes itself as an appointment-only boutique, with booking handled online, so a Saturday drive to 1633 West End Blvd without a slot reserved is a wasted trip. That is a real difference from a department store or a mall rack, and it changes how you plan: pick a date, book it, then build the rest of the day around it.
The second thing is the pageant side of the business. Rubi Jubi says it is an official sponsor of the Miss Minnesota Organization and styles the Miss Minnesota and Miss Minnesota Teen titleholders — currently, per the store’s own site, Anna Brennan and Natalia Yurecko. A shop doing competition wardrobe is used to fittings where the dress has to hold up under stage lights and full-length photos, not just look good on a hanger. It also runs a homecoming ambassador program, which it recruits for by text.
Getting there, and parking when there’s salt on the ground
The Shops at West End sits at the I-394 and Highway 100 interchange in St. Louis Park, which is why shoppers come here from three directions without much thought. Explore Minnesota’s listing notes heated indoor parking alongside the ramp and street spaces. That matters more than it sounds: peak prom shopping in this metro runs January through March, and West End is an open-air center. Park inside and you are not walking a gown out to the car through a slush pile.
It is a 30-plus tenant center with restaurants and a theater, so a fitting appointment absorbs into a longer afternoon easily. Continental Diamond is at the south end along Gamble Drive if jewelry is on the list, and the Good Day Café is directly across 394 for breakfast before an early slot.
The schools that feed it
Benilde-St. Margaret’s is the closest, at 2501 Highway 100 S — the same road, a short run down from the interchange, with roughly 1,100 students in grades 7 through 12. St. Louis Park High School is a few minutes further. Past that, the fifteen-minute ring takes in Hopkins, Edina, Wayzata, Minnetonka, Robbinsdale Armstrong, Breck, and Minneapolis Southwest.
Timing is worth checking against your own school’s calendar rather than assuming. St. Louis Park’s senior timeline puts the 2026 prom on May 9, and the student council has announced a masquerade theme with $50 tickets sold in advance only — none at the door. A May dance means alterations time is not the constraint; getting an appointment before the good sizes thin out in March is.
One Minnesota specific: many schools here hold a grand march before the dance, with students walking a route in front of seated families and a wall of cameras. If yours does, the dress gets a slow, well-lit, head-to-toe look from several hundred people. Bring that up in the fitting room.
