Leasing material for the building describes roughly 5,800 square feet of second-floor retail and office space with high ceilings and a lot of windows. That is the room you are climbing to, not a mall storefront you can see from the road.
The address matters more than usual here, because the store moved and the internet has not caught up. The shop’s own Instagram bio lists 136 NJ-10, 2nd Floor. Its website, its Yelp page and the East Hanover Partnership business directory all still show 320 Route 10 West, a different building down the same road. Call (973) 585-7700 before you drive out, and put 136 in the GPS, not 320. Route 10 is divided through this part of Morris County, so being on the westbound side is the difference between pulling in and looping back.
Four prom and evening labels are confirmed on their brands’ own retailer locators: Jovani, Terani, Tarik Ediz and Tiffany Designs. That is an evening-gown lineup more than a teen-trend lineup — Terani and Tarik Ediz are the kind of racks a senior and her mother can shop on the same visit, which fits a shop whose main business is bridal. The store describes itself as covering wedding, evening, prom, sweet sixteen, quinceañera, bat mitzvah, flower girl and mother-of-the-bride and -groom dresses. A New Jersey Bride listing for the shop says it specializes in larger sizes; we could not confirm the size range independently, so ask on the phone if that is the deciding factor.
The schools closest to the door are Hanover Park High School, on Mount Pleasant Avenue about two miles off Route 10, which draws from East Hanover and Florham Park, and Whippany Park High School in Whippany, the other school in the Hanover Park Regional district. Livingston is over the township line to the east. None of these students are short on options — Jovani’s own New Jersey retailer list names stockists in Livingston and out in Mine Hill — so the argument for this one is proximity and a small upstairs room rather than a warehouse floor.
Two scheduling notes, both from listings rather than from the store directly: Saturdays show as appointment-only or closed, and Sunday hours run 11 to 4. A Sunday appointment is worth knowing about if weekday afternoons are impossible. Confirm by phone, since the same listings carry the old address.
