Syosset Central School District covers all of Woodbury along with parts of Jericho, Plainview, Hicksville, Laurel Hollow, Muttontown, Oyster Bay Cove and East Norwich, and for all of that territory it runs exactly one high school. Syosset High enrolled 2,266 students in 2022–23. One high school means one prom, which means a single set of weekends in spring when every dress shop between Route 106 and the Expressway is working the same deadline. Mieka sits inside that district’s boundaries, on Jericho Turnpike in Woodbury, a hamlet in the Town of Oyster Bay in Nassau County.
What Mieka is not is a prom warehouse. Its own about page describes a family-run business of nearly forty years whose merchandise runs from sportswear and daytime dresses through special-occasion dresses and gowns, and wedding-industry listings identify its particular strength as outfitting mothers of the bride and groom. That shapes the visit in a practical way. A senior and her mother can shop the same trip, off the same racks, from the same stylist — but the prom gowns share the floor with cocktail dresses and wedding-guest looks rather than filling it, so this is a boutique to work through with help, not a rack-by-rack browse.

Three prom-side brands list this address on their own retailer locators: Jovani, Mac Duggal and Dave & Johnny. Getting there and what else is on the trip
Woodbury Village is a strip of independent boutiques and restaurants rather than an enclosed mall, and parking is a free surface lot — a real consideration when the alternative is a mall garage in April. This stretch of Jericho Turnpike is dense with errands: the Stop & Shop is at 8101, and the center at 8027 holds Starbucks, Sweetgreen, Iavarone Bros. and Anthony’s Coal Fire Pizza. The road itself is heavily trafficked; leasing material for the Woodbury Common center further east counts roughly 57,000 vehicles a day past that corner. Give yourself extra time on a Saturday afternoon.
Reviews on the wedding platforms are answered under two first names, Karen and Kenny, which is consistent with the family-run description. The recurring theme in those reviews is appointment-based, hands-on selling: one customer credits a stylist named Marge with pulling gowns she would never have picked off the rack herself. That is the mode of the store. Book, arrive with an idea, and expect someone to bring you three things you did not ask for.
