The store closed its Arlington location on Dec. 17, 2023, after 36 years in the Crystal City Shops, and reopened across the river at 8150 Leesburg Pike, Suite 120. Nasrin and Sasan Rashidi own it, and it is named for their son, Daniel; their daughter Mona works on the marketing side. The Rashidis emigrated from Iran and opened their first business, L.A. Moves and Furs, at Beacon Center in Groveton in 1984, adding Daniel’s Boutique in Crystal City a few years later. At one point they ran three stores there and a fourth at the old Skyline Mall in Bailey’s Crossroads.
A gown store that also sells prom
Jovani and Terani both list this address on their official retailer locators, and the shop’s own brand page shows Mac Duggal as well. What surrounds those racks is not junior prom stock: work clothes, gala gowns, furs, and a fur salon that cleans and restyles. Tailoring is done through the store, which matters more here than the label on the tag. Nasrin told FFXnow she restyles dresses to suit the event — adding a sleeve, for one example she gave — rather than selling them as they hang.
She also said that while walk-ins are welcome, most of her clients book an appointment first, which gives her time to pull pieces before they arrive. That is worth knowing if you were planning to browse a rack unattended on a Saturday. This is a consultation-style shop, and the same person who fits a woman for an embassy dinner or a Marine Corps Ball gown — reviewers mention both — is the person fitting a senior for May.
The address says Vienna. The place is Tysons.
Maple Avenue and the Town of Vienna are a few miles southwest; 22182 just carries a Vienna mailing address this far up the pike. The shop occupies ground-floor retail in an office building on Route 7, across the pike from Tysons Corner Center and its Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s. That proximity is the practical case for the trip: you can compare a Jovani here against the department-store formal racks without moving the car. Greensboro station on the Silver Line sits in the median of Route 7 about half a mile off, and Tysons station is at the mall, so a teenager in Northern Virginia can get here without a parent driving.
Whose prom this is
Marshall High School is on the same road, 7731 Leesburg Pike, a mile and a half down. McLean, Langley, Madison, Oakton, Falls Church and Justice are all inside a fifteen-minute drive in normal traffic, which around Tysons is a real qualifier. Madison’s 2026 prom is Saturday, May 2, at the State Theatre in Falls Church, 8 to 11 p.m., with $50 tickets, according to the school. McLean is running Enchanted Forest as its 2026 theme. Fairfax County proms cluster in late April and May, so the fitting-room crunch here lands in March and early April.
Two things to settle on the phone
- Which Jovani and Terani styles are physically on the floor versus special order, and how long an order takes against your prom date.
- Alteration turnaround, and whether it is quoted separately from the dress. The store publishes no prices online.
