Most formalwear shops hand you the dress and wish you luck. This one is named for the other half of the work. The Pageant Prepper, LLC presents itself as a dress shop and a prep service at once — its own listings advertise online booking, online classes and in-person classes, and the discounts it runs are money off registration, not off a gown. If your daughter is competing rather than just going to prom, that distinction is the reason to make this the stop.
The size range is the second tell. The shop says it carries kids’ 2 through women’s 38 — toddler gowns through true plus — and calls itself Calhoun County’s dress shop. That span is what a pageant clientele in this part of Alabama requires: the same family may be buying for a four-year-old in a local preliminary and a senior in an evening gown in the same season.

Ellie Wilde also lists the store on its retailer locator, and the shop’s own social pages name Jessica Angel, Sydney’s Closet and Sophia Thomas among what it stocks. Treat the five above as the certainties and ask about the rest by phone.
Where it sits
The address on the brand locators is 3157 US 431, in the 36206 ZIP north of downtown Anniston — not the Quintard Avenue and Oxford retail strip that most Calhoun County shopping trips default to, but the two-lane-and-then-some run of 431 heading toward Alexandria and Gadsden. Saks High School is roughly two miles off; Alexandria High is about four miles further up the same road. Anniston, Jacksonville and Oxford run their own city school systems, and Calhoun County Schools covers the rest, so a Friday afternoon here can pull from Saks, Alexandria, Weaver, White Plains and Pleasant Valley as easily as from the city schools.
You are not driving three hours for this, and the page shouldn’t pretend otherwise. Another Ellie Wilde stockist, the Quality Shoppe, is about nine miles north in Jacksonville, and Birmingham is an hour west on I-20. What this store offers over those is the pageant side: coaching and classes attached to the same phone number that sells the dress.
Call before you drive
The addresses on record do not all agree. Brand locators put the store at 3157 US 431 in Anniston, an address that has previously housed other formalwear businesses. The shop’s own Facebook page lists 6412 US 431 N in Alexandria, a few miles north on the same highway. The phone number is the same either way: (731) 418-0792. Alabama proms cluster in late March and April, earlier than in the Northeast, which makes January and February the crowded weeks — call or book online first and confirm which door to walk through.
