Terani, Tarik Ediz and MNM Couture are evening houses whose gowns show up at weddings and black-tie events as often as at high school proms — heavier beadwork, more structure, cut for a formal room rather than a gym. A shopper who wants that look, or who wants something made rather than pulled off a rack, is the shopper this place is set up for. The shop also advertises custom work, which is unusual in a town this size.

Ridgefield is in the far western corner of Fairfield County, Connecticut, hard against the New York line. First, the address. This directory carries 32 Overlook Drive, a residential street near the village; the shop’s own Facebook and Instagram give 421 Main Street. Confirm the meeting address when the appointment is booked rather than driving on the listing.
Second, the terms. All sales final means the dress you approve at the fitting is the dress you own. Ask before the appointment how alterations are handled, what a deposit looks like, and how long a special order takes, because in a final-sale shop those answers are the whole deal.
