Bartholomew Consolidated does not run separate proms. Students from Columbus North, Columbus East and CSA New Tech all go to the same dance at The Commons, 300 Washington Street, and the prom parade rolls through downtown beforehand — north on Washington, past The Commons, up to Seventh Street. Recent BCSC proms have run 9 p.m. to midnight on the first Saturday in May, with the parade from 7 to 9. The dress shop at 544 Washington sits on that same street, a few blocks up from the door everyone walks through.

The sign and the Instagram account read XO by Sophia’s. It is the prom arm of Sophia’s Bridal, Tux and Prom, a south-side Indianapolis business that opened this downtown storefront in 2019 as its second Indiana location, under owners Matthew and Jessica Limeberry. The same address also carries the company’s discount bridal name, With Love, Sophia’s, so a search may turn up two or three店 names for one door and one phone number.

Jovani and Sherri Hill both list this Columbus address on their official retailer locators, and Faviana keeps a store page for it. The shop’s own Columbus page claims over 1,000 dresses in stock in sizes 000–28, meant to be carried out the same day rather than ordered in.

How buying works here

  • No appointment required for prom and formalwear shopping, per the store’s FAQ.
  • Stated price band: as low as $99, as high as $1,200, with most of the collection between $300 and $800.
  • Free layaway with $200 down, paid off before pickup.
  • Alterations are handled through outside specialists the store works with — some who meet clients in the shop, some in their own space.
  • Stylists can check the company’s other stores for a size: Southport and Keystone at the Crossing in Indianapolis, plus St. Matthews in Louisville.

Who is actually in the store

Columbus North enrolled about 2,267 students in 2023–24 and Columbus East about 1,518. One shared prom means one room, one night, and a real chance of seeing a repeat — which is the practical argument for shopping early and for asking a stylist what has already gone to which school.

Beyond the city, the trade area is a set of short drives across south-central Indiana. Hauser Jr-Sr High in Hope, with roughly 420 students in grades 7–12, is 12 miles east on State Road 46 and then six miles north on State Road 9. Greensburg is 19 miles out the other end of 46. Seymour and North Vernon are down I-65 and U.S. 50. For most of those towns, Washington Street is the nearest place to try on a Sherri Hill in person instead of guessing at a size online.

With the BCSC dance falling in early May, the fitting-and-alterations crunch lands in March and April, which is also when the downtown parking near the Arts & Entertainment District gets tighter on Saturdays. Hours have shifted between prom season and the quiet months; the phone number on this listing is the reliable way to check before making the drive.
