The promise is printed on the shop’s own prom page: it will not sell the same dress to the same school. In a town of about 14,000 with three high schools, that is not a slogan, it is inventory management. New Ulm High School, Cathedral High School and Minnesota Valley Lutheran all hold their own proms, and their dates cluster. In 2021, New Ulm and MVL held theirs the same Saturday night, with Cathedral’s three weeks behind. Cathedral serves roughly 200 students across grades 7–12; MVL counts about 270 in grades 9–12. Junior classes that small mean a repeated gown gets noticed at the grand march, which is the point of the rule — and the reason the staff will want your school name when you book.
The store says it stocks more than 800 prom dresses at the New Ulm location. Its prom labels include Colette, Dave & Johnny and Johnathan Kayne, all three of which list this address on their own retailer locators, plus Ellie Wilde and Primavera per the shop’s prom page. New arrivals get posted to its Facebook and Instagram accounts rather than an online catalog, so the socials are the closest thing to a live inventory list.
Appointments, and the two months with Sunday hours
Sisters is appointment-only for all services, prom included, and walk-ins are taken only if there happens to be room. Posted hours shift with the appointment book, but the schedule the shop lists is:

Those Sunday hours exist for one reason: prom season here starts in January, well before the dresses are needed. Two closed weekdays and a Saturday that ends at 2 p.m. also mean the Thursday evening slot is the one that works around a school day.
Getting there, and what else the shop does
The address is 1201 South Broadway, on the south end of New Ulm — the Brown County seat, sitting where the Cottonwood meets the Minnesota River in southern Minnesota. Highways 14, 15 and 68 all run through town, so the drive in from the Mankato side, from Sleepy Eye and Springfield to the west, or down Highway 15 works out to one road most of the way. Pre-prom group photos in New Ulm have traditionally gathered at German Park before the grand march.
Prom is one season of the year here. The rest of it is bridal gowns, bridesmaids, mother-of-the-bride and flower girl dresses, and tuxedo and suit rental — the shop is an authorized Jim’s Formal Wear retailer. It describes itself as founded by two sisters, and it now runs two more stores under related names: Infinity by Sisters in Marshall and Veiled by Sisters in Hutchinson. The 800-dress prom floor, though, is the New Ulm one.
