The designers named for prom are Ellie Wilde, Clarisse and Dave & Johnny, plus Sydney's Closet for shoppers who want a plus-size line built for curves. The bigger draw at Roxi's is the dress-per-school rule, not the length of the label list. A student from Pierce and one from Wayne can buy the same style, but two from the same school cannot.
Prom shopping does not need an appointment. The store tells shoppers to call or come in anytime during store hours; booked consultations are for brides. Roxi opened the shop in 1999 and later moved it to a bigger location, staying downtown on Norfolk Avenue. Homecoming dresses share the prom section, from short party styles to longer gowns for fall formals.
From Pierce to Plainview, the schools Roxi's tracks
Norfolk is the shopping hub for much of northeast Nebraska, and the prom traffic reflects that. Norfolk Senior High, one of the larger high schools in this corner of the state, is the biggest school in town, and Norfolk Catholic and Lutheran High Northeast are in town too. Then come the towns that drive in for anything bigger than a grocery run: Battle Creek, Pierce, Madison, Stanton, Wayne and Plainview among them. A shop serving all of those schools at once is exactly where a per-school dress list earns its keep.

What happens if someone from my school already bought the dress I want?
The store will not sell that gown to a second person attending the same school's prom, so you would pick a different style. Shopping early gives you first claim on the dress you love.
Does Roxi's rent tuxedos for prom?
Yes. The shop works with Jim's Formal Wear and Paul Morrill, so the dress and the tux can both be handled at the same downtown shop.
