You cannot browse this store from your couch. Talula’s says it outright on its own website: We do not currently showcase our products online or offer online sales.
No lookbook, no web store, no scrollable inventory. If you want to know what is on the racks at 3120 Justin Road, you drive to Highland Village and look.
That is a real trade-off worth knowing before you plan a Saturday. It also tells you what kind of shop this is: one that expects the dress to be tried on, in person, by the girl wearing it.
Why it’s here at all
Talula’s opened in May 2024. Owner Heather Bernal told Community Impact she grew up in Dallas with plenty of retail nearby, then spent years living in the northwest corner of the metroplex and found the options thin. We desperately needed a dress shop,
she said, adding that she picked Highland Village because of its central location to our target markets, which are teens and women.
The geography backs that up. Justin Road is FM 407, and this stretch of it sits a couple of minutes west of I-35E in Denton County, between Lewisville Lake and Flower Mound. From that intersection, 407 runs west toward Bartonville, Argyle and Justin; 35E takes you north to Denton in about fifteen minutes or south toward Dallas. It is a corner of Texas where the neighborhoods filled in fast and the specialty retail did not follow at the same pace.
Schools within a short drive of the door include Marcus and Flower Mound high schools, Lewisville and Hebron, Guyer and Ryan in Denton, and, out west on 407, Argyle High School and Liberty Christian. Lantana, Copper Canyon and Double Oak are all closer to this shop than to any mall.
Prom is one season out of several
The name says party, prom and gift, and the store’s own list of what it stocks runs well past prom: cotillion and gala dresses, quince dresses, bat mitzvah dresses, middle school formals, mother of the bride and mother of the groom, wedding guest and second-look dresses, sorority rush dresses. There is a Debutante Collection in girls’ sizes 6–14, described as limited in styles and quantity, and suit and tuxedo rentals under a men’s label the shop calls Beau’s Social Co.
Two of those matter more here than they would in most of the country. Sorority rush dresses move in summer, because a lot of Lewisville ISD and Denton ISD graduates go through recruitment at Texas schools in August and need a week’s worth of outfits, not one gown. And homecoming in this part of North Texas means a mum — the ribbon-and-bell kind that gets bigger every year. Talula’s side of homecoming is the dress.
The four verified prom labels
- Jovani and Terani — the heavily beaded, structured evening end of the market, the labels people also wear to galas and weddings.
- Clarisse and Ava Presley — core prom houses, with the fitted and ballgown silhouettes that dominate a Texas prom photo line.
Those four appear on the brands’ own official retailer locators. Nothing on the shop’s site indicates a designer exclusive for the area, so if a specific style number matters to you, call first.
Before you go
Appointments are available but not required for dress shopping, and a reserved VIP dressing room is an option rather than the default. Suit and tuxedo rentals are different: those require an appointment, and the tux fitting hours are shorter than the store hours. There is a text line for appointments outside normal business hours.
Two more things from the store’s own posted policies. Talula’s does not rent dresses. And all apparel sales are final — the shop asks customers to be certain before they buy, which is standard in prom retail but still worth saying out loud to a fifteen-year-old on the way in.
