Down a level from the bridal salon at 31st and Lawrence, Denver got its first Mimi's prom floor in 2025. The building is the historic Epworth Building in the RiNo district, which 303 Magazine described in 2017 as originally a church and community center for the Five Points and Curtis Park neighborhoods. The upstairs has housed the Little White Dress bridal salon for years. When the Mimi's family brought Little White Dress into its company in 2025, the garden level below became Mimi's Prom Denver.
Mimi's itself is not new. Founder Amy left years of classroom teaching to return to fashion, and in June 2010 she opened the first store in Sullivan, Missouri, with 1,200 square feet of floor. Her daughter Victoria now runs the business with her, and the company has grown to prom stores in Kansas City, St. Louis, Sullivan and Denver. The family describes Mimi's as family-owned and woman-led, and the Denver store is its first in Colorado.
Appointment only, with a stylist
Every Mimi's location shops by appointment only, and Denver follows the same rule. The reasoning is about time on the floor: booked slots mean no waiting at the door and no waiting for a fitting room, and every appointment comes with a stylist who pulls dresses alongside the shopper. The company recommends a weekday booking for a calmer visit, since weekends bring more shoppers, more guests and more stylists onto the floor at once.
The house rules are simple, and a tip for the stylist is welcome but optional.

Buyers handpick the stock from leading prom and homecoming designers, and dresses on the floor go home the day they are bought, with no wait for a special order.

Payment is by cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or Amex, with no checks. All sales are final, including special orders, layaway and sale items. The final-sale rule makes the appointment the place to decide, so bring the people whose opinions count. Alterations happen outside the store. Mimi's keeps a list of seamstresses recommended to it, and a shopper who bought her dress there can call the Denver location to have that list texted over.
Shoppers who know the brand from Missouri will find the same pricing structure and policies they saw at Mimi's Prom StL in Chesterfield, though Denver's long-gown size run tops out a little lower.
Getting there is easy from most of the city. Lawrence Street runs a block off Larimer, at the edge of RiNo and Curtis Park, close to downtown. Manual High School sits on East 28th Avenue in the same part of town, and East High School families on the far side of City Park and North High School families across the Platte in Highland are not far off. For prom shoppers coming in from anywhere on the northern Front Range of Colorado, a weekday slot after school is the easiest visit to plan.
