The Epworth Building went up in 1915 on the edge of Curtis Park as a Methodist church joined to a gymnasium and a community center that ran meals, classes and job referrals for the neighborhood. Denver made it an individual landmark in 1999. It has been a wedding-dress building since 2016, when Little White Dress moved into the renovated space at the corner of 31st and Lawrence. In 2025 that shop was bought by Mimi’s, and the garden level underneath the bridal floor became Mimi’s Prom Denver — the family’s first store in Colorado.
Mimi’s is a Missouri operation. It started in 2010 as a 1,200-square-foot shop in Sullivan, about seventy miles southwest of St. Louis, opened by Amy, who had been a teacher, and is now run with her daughter Victoria. Kansas City came in 2020, St. Louis in 2021, Denver in 2025. Four stores buy together, which is the practical reason a shop this new has depth on the rack in its first season.
Ashley Lauren, Faviana and Sherri Hill all list the Denver address on their official retailer locators, and Ellie Wilde lists it too. One caution: the company runs a single website across all four locations, so a dress that appears online is not necessarily hanging in Denver. Call the store about a specific designer or style number before you drive in.

The final-sale policy is worth reading twice, because it covers layaway and special orders as well. Alterations are not done in house; Mimi’s keeps a list of seamstresses it passes along to customers who bought a dress there.
Booking and the visit
Every Mimi’s location is appointment only, Denver included, and you get a stylist for the appointment rather than browsing on your own. The store says weekends are the loud, crowded version and weekdays are the calm one. Wear a strapless or sticky bra and any shapewear you plan to use. No outside food or drink.
Getting there
This is a Denver address that behaves like a suburban one in the way that matters most: the building has its own free lot, first come, first served, in a part of town where almost everything else is paid. You are one block off Larimer at the southwest corner of the RiNo district, minutes from downtown and a straight shot from I-70 or I-25 by way of Brighton Boulevard.
Manual High School sits about a mile east on 28th Avenue; East High is on the far side of City Park; North, Northfield and the Denver School of the Arts are all inside a fifteen-minute drive on a good day. For families further out, the nearest comparable prom selection in the metro is TBC Occasions, the prom division of The Bridal Collection, on the opposite side of town in the south suburbs. Coming from Boulder, Greeley or the mountain towns, plan the appointment for a weekday and make the rest of the trip out of Larimer Street.
