The address does most of the explaining. 9 E Lafayette Square puts this shop on the brick circle around the downtown fountain — the one with the bronze Marquis de Lafayette standing on top. West Georgia has plenty of formalwear sold off highway frontage; this is not that. You park on the street or in the nearby garage, walk past the fountain, and go in.
The store has handled bridal, prom, and tuxedo rentals here since 2007, and it describes itself as the only bridal boutique in LaGrange. For a prom shopper that combination is the practical point: dresses and rented tuxes come out of the same room, so a couple can settle both in one trip instead of splitting the errand between towns.

The fashion show is how prom season opens here
An Affair to Remember has been running an annual prom fashion show for more than a decade, according to the LaGrange Daily News. The format has held: two seatings, one at 1 p.m. and one at 3 p.m., free to attend but with limited seating, plus giveaways and event pricing that day. If you want first look at the season’s stock in this town, that Saturday is when it happens.
The trade area
Troup County School System runs five high schools. LaGrange High is on North Greenwood Street, roughly a mile from the square. Troup County High sits out Hamilton Road, and Callaway High is up in Hogansville. LaGrange High and Troup both play their football at Callaway Stadium, which the Callaway Foundation built in 1958 — the same foundation that gave the town the Lafayette statue and the renovated fountain out front of this store. Lafayette Christian School and LaGrange Academy add a few hundred more students to the same shopping pool.
The county reaches the Alabama line at West Point, which pulls Chambers County into the picture: Valley and LaFayette high schools, Lanett, Springwood School in Lanett, and Chambers Academy. Those towns sit on the same stretch of I-85, and LaGrange is the closer retail stop for most of them than anything in Alabama.
The nearest comparable selections are a highway drive. Newnan is about 31 miles up I-85. Columbus is at the far end of I-185, roughly 50 miles south. Atlanta is farther still. That distance is the argument for shopping the square first — if the dress is here, you have saved yourself two hours in the car and a second Saturday.

Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Closed Sunday. Saturday is the only weekend day and it ends early, so the shop takes appointments online and by phone at (706) 416-2396 — worth booking rather than walking in cold during January and February. Beyond prom, the store also carries mothers’ and special-occasion dresses, shoes, and accessories, which matters if the same trip has to cover a graduation or a wedding guest look.
