This is a wedding store that also sells prom dresses, and knowing that in advance changes how you plan the trip. The Wedding Plaza’s floor is built around bridal, bridesmaids, mothers of the bride and men’s formalwear; prom sits inside it as a department of its own, stocked with Jovani Prom, JVN Prom by Jovani, Jovani Homecoming, Terani Prom, La Femme and the Jessica Angel Collection. The store’s own catalog also lists Vizcaya by Morilee for quinceañera. Appointments are preferred rather than required.
The hours are the thing to plan around
Per the shop’s own listing, the doors open at noon Monday through Friday and close at 5, with evening hours by appointment. Saturday runs 10 to 5. Sunday is 11 to 3, gown department only, by appointment, and no tuxedos are handled that day. So a Sunday visit works for a dress but not for a date’s suit — if you want both fitted on the same trip, go Saturday or make a weekday evening appointment. Alterations are done through the store.
What the prices actually look like
The store publishes prices on its website, which is unusual enough to be worth using. These were the ranges listed across the four prom and eveningwear labels verified on the brands’ own retailer locators:

Some La Femme styles are flagged as quick-delivery, with the available colors and sizes spelled out style by style. That matters if you are shopping late and cannot wait on a special order.
Where it sits
Jericho Turnpike here is Route 25, and a few blocks west of the store the road itself is the boundary: from Braddock Avenue to 257th Street, the turnpike carries the Queens–Nassau line, with the Bellerose and Floral Park neighborhoods of Queens on one side and the villages of Bellerose and Floral Park in western Nassau County on the other. A shop on this stretch draws from both sides of the city line.
On the Nassau side, the relevant school system is the Sewanhaka Central High School District, whose office is on Landau Avenue in Floral Park — a few minutes from the store. It runs five 7–12 high schools with roughly 7,700 students between them, and two of the five are in Floral Park itself: Floral Park Memorial on Locust Street and Sewanhaka High School. The other three are Elmont Memorial on Ridge Road, H. Frank Carey in Franklin Square and New Hyde Park Memorial on Leonard Boulevard. All five are within a short drive.
Without a car: the Floral Park LIRR station at Tulip and Atlantic serves the Main Line and the Hempstead Branch, and the Q110 bus runs along Jericho Turnpike.
Two things to ask before you go
- Whether the style you want is in stock in your size or has to be ordered, and how long the order takes. The website distinguishes between the two, but stock moves.
- Whether the same style has already gone out to someone at your school. Jovani, Terani and La Femme are carried widely across Nassau and Queens, so duplicates are a real risk here in a way they are not in an isolated small town.
The store describes itself as family-owned and operated, and it has been at this address long enough to have a Better Business Bureau file opened in 1995. Its own site dates the business to 1988; the BBB record puts the start at September 1990.
