If you shopped for a gown in Clemmons a few years ago, you have probably already been inside this store. The suite at 2668 Lewisville-Clemmons Road used to hold Hip Chics Formalwear and Village Tuxedo. It is now Walker Lane Dress & Tux, owned and run by Caroline Bandy Walker, a Davie County native. Same address, different shop.
The location matters more than most in Forsyth County. Lewisville-Clemmons Road is the spine of the village, and West Forsyth High School sits on it at number 1735, a short drive down the same road from the shop. West Forsyth enrolls roughly 2,300 students in grades 9–12 under Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, which means a large single-school prom market is essentially in walking distance of the racks. Reagan High is the other close feeder, and Davie County families come up from the Mocksville side.

Mother-of-the-bride and other special-occasion dresses are stocked as well, and the store handles tuxedos and suits both as rentals and as purchases — a holdover strength from the Village Tuxedo years and the reason a couple can settle both halves of prom in one stop.
How a visit is structured
Prom shopping here runs on appointments, and the rules are worth knowing before you drive over. If a group of friends comes together, each shopper needs her own appointment so she gets her own dressing room. During the busiest stretches the store asks male guests to wait in the front lobby while the fitting rooms are in use. Mother-of-the-bride appointments are booked separately. Listings show walk-ins accepted, but for prom the appointment is the real front door.
The store posts new arrivals heavily on Instagram, where it has built an audience of about 16,000 followers — useful if you want to see what has come in before committing to the trip.
