The shop’s posted schedule is the first thing worth knowing about it. Monday through Friday are appointment-only. The open windows without one are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. That is a four-hour Saturday, which in February and March is the shortest supply of time in the prom-dress business. 620 South First Street is U.S. 31
In Pulaski, First Street and U.S. 31 are the same road — the highway comes through the center of town under that name, splitting from U.S. 31A on its way north to Columbia. The store sits on the south side of that run, below the Giles County courthouse square. Coming off I-65, the two usual ways in are Exit 1 at Elkton Pike, about seventeen miles out on U.S. 31, or Exit 14, where U.S. 64 comes west into town. Alyce Paris, Johnathan Kayne and Jovani all name this store on their official retailer locators. The shop’s own site adds Ellie Wilde, Ashley Lauren, Rachel Allan and Amarra to that list. Johnathan Kayne is a Nashville-raised designer with a long pageant following, and pageant work is clearly part of the business rather than a sideline — the site carries separate Jovani Signature and Kids Pageant sections alongside prom and homecoming, plus bridal and a consignment rack. In its own Marketplace listing the store puts its prom inventory at more than 500 new dresses in stock.
Who it serves
Giles County has two public high schools. Giles County High School, the Bobcats, enrolled 688 students in grades 9–12 in 2023–24 and sits minutes from the store. Richland School in Lynnville covers grades 6–12 at the north end of the county, and students there describe it as a small, tight-knit school. UT Southern, the former Martin Methodist College that joined the University of Tennessee system in 2021, is in town as well, which puts a college formal calendar in the same few blocks.
The alternative to shopping in Pulaski is a drive. Columbia is 31 miles up U.S. 31, roughly 45 minutes. Huntsville is 44 miles south, about an hour and five minutes. For a family in this part of southern Middle Tennessee, an appointment on First Street is an afternoon; either of the other two is most of a day, and the dress still has to come back for alterations.
