Sue Cerulli opened her shop on North Washington Street in March 2008, going by the Daily Herald's 2021 anniversary story. Bri'Zan Couture sits in Suite 103 at 827 N. Washington, just north of downtown Naperville. Wedding gowns are the biggest part of its business. Prom, though, is on the specialty list the About page gives, alongside homecoming, cocktail, black tie, pageant, quinceañera, first communion and bat mitzvah dresses.
Ten straight Best of Naperville wins
The homepage banner claims Bri'Zan was voted the number one women's boutique in Naperville for the past 10 years. The press page backs it with a Best of Naperville listing for every year from 2012 through 2021. Naperville Magazine runs that readers' poll. Its September 2019 winners list, drawn from more than 15,000 votes, named Bri'Zan the Women's Boutique winner, with Evereve and Karisma Boutique as runners up. The write-up praised the two-hour bridal appointments and then turned to everyone else who walks in.
The boutique offers the same care for those shopping for bridesmaid, mother-of-the-bride, prom, quinceanera, and other special event dresses.
Glancer Magazine added its Best of the Best award in 2019, 2020 and 2021.

A focused prom floor, with Portia & Scarlett out front
The prom collection online is labeled as in store, and its designer filter shows the mix. Portia & Scarlett has the most styles, close to a third of them. Jessica Angel and Primavera Couture come next. Jovani follows, with a few more from its JVN line. Colors Dress and Ellie Wilde have smaller runs, and Terani, Alyce Paris, Stella Couture and Faviana round it out with a handful.
That makes a focused floor. The silhouette filter runs from mermaid and trumpet to ball gown, slim A-line, two-piece looks, dramatic skirts and skirt slits. Necklines include plunges, illusion and sheer bodices, halters and long sleeves. A student reviewer for The North Star, the Naperville North High School paper, called Bri'Zan "the perfect destination for glitz" in March 2015. She also pointed readers there for a gown they had spotted at the senior fashion show.
No prom prices appear on the site. The same 2015 article warned that the dresses "run a bit expensive," and added that they "do not disappoint." Settle on a number before you go and say it when you book.
Homecoming, pageant and the evening racks
The fall dance has its own section. Cocktail and homecoming styles come from Alyce Paris, Colors Dress, Ellie Wilde, Faviana, Jovani, Portia & Scarlett and Primavera Couture, spread over about three pages online.
A bigger evening collection, filed with mothers' dresses, runs to 22 pages. It includes Mac Duggal, Ashley Lauren, MNM Couture, Tarik Ediz, Terani and Jovani, along with Montage, Cameron Blake and Ivonne D. Those racks are where to look for a black-tie gala or a winter formal that calls for something more grown up than a school dance. Naperville Magazine's April 2022 shopping guide credited the boutique's "extensive inventory and custom design service," and listed school dances, pageants, galas, quinceañeras, first communions and bat mitzvahs among the events it dresses for. The About page lists custom made couture gowns as a specialty too.

Booking a visit north of downtown
Bri'Zan is open Tuesday through Saturday. Hours are 11 to 6 on Tuesday and Wednesday, 11 to 7 on Thursday and Friday, and 10 to 6 on Saturday. It is closed Sunday and Monday, so a Monday after school won't work. Appointments are booked online or by phone. The tips on the Experience page carry over to prom. Bring ideas in print or on your phone. Bring the people whose opinions you trust most, and keep that group small. Eat before you come, because trying on gowns is tiring.
Every sale is final, under a return policy that covers all purchases and special orders. Know your size range and your school's dress rules before the try-on, not after.

The salon also has a public record of giving. For the shop's anniversary in 2021, Cerulli gave away 26 gowns to front-line health care and essential workers, a story covered by the Daily Herald, WGN, NBC Chicago and Fox 32. The About page adds a promise that no matter a client's race, gender, age, religion or identity, the store will always be a safe space.

Does Bri'Zan list prom prices online?
No. The prom pages show styles and designers but no prices, so ask what a gown costs when you book or when you are in the fitting room.
Is every prom gown on the website actually in the shop?
The prom pages are filed as in-store styles. Stock turns over, so name the style numbers you want when you set up the visit.
Can I bring a dress back if I change my mind?
No. Bri'Zan's return policy makes all sales final, special orders included.
Is the shop open on Sundays?
No. It is closed Sunday and Monday. Saturday opens earliest, at 10.
