A seasonal store, and proud of it
G. Marie's keeps different hours in July than in March, and the store's site gives the reason: it is a seasonal specialty store. During peak prom season, January through April, and again during homecoming season from mid-August to mid-October, the Broad Street store in downtown Lyons is open seven days a week. In season, Sunday hours run only until the weekend before Easter. Outside those windows the week gets shorter and Saturdays go by appointment, so the store's own advice is a quick call to confirm the day.
That calendar shows who G. Marie's is built for. Prom, homecoming and pageant are the main event here, and the store has been in business since at least 2019, long enough to have worked through a good run of prom seasons in this corner of southeast Georgia. It has since added a second location in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, on Canal Street, and anything on the website can be ordered for that store too.
Students come from Toombs County High in Lyons and Vidalia High next door, along with Montgomery County High in Mount Vernon, Treutlen High in Soperton, Robert Toombs Christian Academy and Vidalia Heritage Academy. In a rural county like this one, a prom shop with this much stock right on Broad Street saves a lot of families a long drive.

The way the store sorts its dresses is a clue to how well it knows its customers. Prom has a Curvy Plus section. Homecoming has Curvy Homecoming and a Homecoming Court category. There are racks for MORP and sneaker balls, fall balls and winter formals, and a quinceañera collection. Pageant is broken out by evening gown, princess pageant, interview and fun fashion or runway, which is how a pageant mom actually shops. The guys are covered with tuxedos and suits, ties, shirts and socks.
The store also brings designers to town. On October 3, 2026, it hosted Johnathan Kayne, the designer known from Project Runway, at the Georgia location for a meet and greet and one-on-one custom design sessions, with prom 2027 looks among the draws. Then there is the annual Fashion Forward Fashion Show, cast through a model program that opens its call every August.
