Chic Boutique at Palisades Center, a Prom Superstore Built on Selection

Prom superstore on the second floor of Palisades Center in West Nyack, with thousands of dresses in stock and labels like Sherri Hill, Jovani and La Femme.

Since 1993

Chic Boutique moved its Westchester shop from The Westchester in White Plains to Palisades Center in West Nyack in 2026, and the new space is a big step up. It sits on the second floor near Starbucks, and the store calls it a superstore, with thousands of dresses in stock.

That number is the whole pitch. Palisades Center is one of the largest shopping centers in the country, four floors and more than two million square feet, and a floor in a building that size lets a formalwear store stock deep in every category instead of hanging one sample of each style. For a shop whose reputation rests on selection, that matters more than anything else about the address.

One Mall, Three Markets

The mall sits right off Thruway Exit 12, near where the Thruway meets the Palisades Interstate Parkway and a few miles west of the Mario Cuomo Bridge. That puts the store within reach of shoppers who do not fit neatly into one county:

  • Rockland County families from Clarkstown, Nanuet, Pearl River, Nyack, Suffern and North Rockland, including students from Clarkstown High School South here in West Nyack
  • Westchester families, a short drive west across the Mario Cuomo Bridge
  • Northern New Jersey shoppers coming up the Palisades Interstate Parkway
  • Lower Orange County families, who sit roughly between this store and the Poughkeepsie location and can pick whichever mall is closer

What the Store Says About Itself

Chic Boutique describes itself as one of the largest formalwear retailers in New York, with thousands of dresses in stock in store and online, and says its stylists have been helping customers find the right dress for more than thirty years, by its own count. The store also notes that it charges sales tax only in New York, a detail that matters to shoppers driving in from New Jersey.

Labels on the Floor

The superstore format means the brand roster runs deep. Labels the store lists include Sherri Hill, Jovani, La Femme, Morilee, Faviana, Terani Couture, Rachel Allan, Ellie Wilde, Amarra, Cinderella Divine, Colette, Dave and Johnny, Portia and Scarlett, Scala, and Primavera Couture. The floor covers everything from trend-forward statement pieces to refined evening wear, with enough range that a quinceañera customer and a prom junior can shop side by side without running into the same rack.

Beyond prom, the floor covers quinceañera, homecoming, cocktail, bridesmaid, and mother-of-the-bride, with plus-size prom dresses listed as a category of their own. The chain's Hudson Valley location is Chic Boutique Poughkeepsie, inside the Poughkeepsie Galleria on South Road, about an hour north.

Before You Shop

Do I need an appointment?

No. Walk-ins are welcome during regular mall hours, so you can stop in on a weekend mall trip and start pulling dresses off the rack.

Does Chic Boutique carry plus-size prom dresses?

Yes. The store lists plus-size prom as a category of its own, and its posted size range runs from 000 all the way to 32W.

Can I return or exchange a dress?

No. Dress purchases are final sale, whether you buy in the store, by phone or online. Try on in person if you can, and settle on size and color before you pay.

How early should I order for prom?

If the dress you want is not in stock, it becomes a special order cut for you, and the store asks for your event date up front. It only takes orders it can deliver in time, so the earlier you shop, the more of the label roster stays on the table.
