Label coverage here is lopsided. Jovani is on record at eleven prom dress stores, with Sherri Hill, Ellie Wilde and Amarra close behind. Six labels sit at one storefront each. The shops below are grouped by region and county, with the label fact that matters most at each door.
The Region, in Lake and LaPorte counties
Jovani and Primavera hang at all three. Fifteen labels are on record across these doors, level with the river counties for the deepest mix of any region. The catch is the drive out to Michigan City.
Michiana, in St. Joseph County
These two share just three labels: Ava Presley, Jovani and Portia & Scarlett. So a day at both covers fourteen houses. Each also calls itself the biggest in the state, Ashley Rene's for prom and pageant, Tera Lee's on the strength of more than 5,000 gowns.
North central, in Howard and Miami counties
Sherri Hill is on record at neither. No other region lacks it. Lillian's answers with gowns it says are not sold online or at other stores, stock that never shows up on a label list.
Indianapolis, in Marion County
Three addresses, one buying list. Crossing the city adds stock and XO Exclusive gowns, but not a single new label. Ava Presley, Morilee and Johnathan Kayne are missing. For the first two, head an hour down I-65 to Seymour. Johnathan Kayne is on record only at the far corners of the map.
South central along I-65, in Bartholomew and Jackson counties
That B.Loved habit is a caution for this whole page. A label on record means the shop buys from that house. It does not mean your size is hanging in your color.
The river counties, from Jefferson west to Knox
This is the widest region and the most uneven. The eastern pair names no labels at all, so a Madison or New Albany shopper set on one house faces a long drive. Go west and the picture flips. Clarisse turns up only in Evansville and Rockport, and Rice N' Ribbon covers more houses than any other shop in southern Indiana.

Do prom shops here mark designer dresses down once the season winds down?
Yes, through clearance sections and sale racks, and those sales are final. White Iris Dress takes up to 60 percent off clearance gowns, sold as is. Ashley Rene's sale rack starts at $99, and Lillian's keeps one too. Don't expect it on a label's list price online. Rice N' Ribbon says its labels do not allow gowns to be advertised below suggested retail, and it treats a much lower price elsewhere as a counterfeit warning. A marked-down Sherri Hill or Jovani is found on a rack in person, in whatever sizes are left.
