Cut-outs are the Jasz signature. The label's own About page credits its "sexy cut-outs" and trend-driven shapes for setting it apart, and it says Jasz gowns have walked pageant stages from local contests to national ones. Prom is still the core. Jasz describes itself as the perfect pick for junior and senior prom.
Tawinder Singh founded the label in 1986 as Linzas, and it later took the Jasz Couture name. Singh is still CEO and runs the company from downtown Los Angeles. Jasmine Kaur is head designer as well as VP of marketing and operations, and the company says national sales director Pam Nierenberg helps design many of the gowns. Jasz says its dresses sell in more than 350 stores across the country.
Fitting a Jasz gown
Don't assume your usual number carries over. Prom Headquarters in Greenville, South Carolina, an authorized seller, puts it plainly: "Like all designers, Jasz Couture has its own unique sizing." So try it on in the shop and let the fitter tell you which size to order. Between two, take the larger one and have it taken in.
Length matters too. Tall in heels? Jasz offers added length, and the brand says it may cost more, so raise it before the shop places the order.
There is no separate plus collection. Larger sizes come in the same styles everyone else shops, with one catch. The brand's own size chart adds $20 to prom gowns from size 18 up. A shop sets its own step, and it can be bigger. One large prom retailer adds $44 from size 18 on its Jasz styles, so a gown listed at $570 runs $614 in sizes 18 to 22. The prom run ends here:

Beads, fringe and the Jasz price tag
Beyond the cut-outs, the brand's own style tags lean on beading and sequins first, then lace, jersey and illusion mesh. Corsets show up often. So do plunge necklines, open backs, feathers and fringe. Beading runs through most of a Jasz prom line, and high slits and sequins turn up nearly as often. Jasz frames all of it as an old Hollywood idea of glamour. Neither the brand nor its shops say whether the beading is done by hand, so ask if that matters to you. The company also says celebrities wear Jasz to award ceremonies, though it names none.
Price lands in the upper middle of prom. At that same retailer, Jasz prom gowns mostly list between $440 and $880 at full price, with a median near $680. Prom Headquarters posts its full Jasz catalog, and its prom gowns run from about $330 to $880.

Beaded showpieces sit at the top. Style 7932, a strapless gown with an overskirt, lists at $944, or $988 from size 18. Older style 7509 has shown $920 and $1,010 before sale on two retailer listings, and its style number puts it a few seasons back.
The bargains are real, too. Once a new prom line posts, last season is where the savings are. One big seller has marked more than half of a past Jasz line down to $284.
Checking Jasz stock before you drive
Jasz says its inventory is live on almost all of its authorized retailers' sites, so you can check whether a style is in stock before you go. Then call the shop with the style number and ask it to pull your size for a fitting.
A style that isn't in stock can still be ordered, but the brand publishes no lead time for special orders. French Novelty, one Jasz seller, says a gown that has to be made can take 6 to 14 weeks. Ask your shop for a ship date, and for its return and exchange rules, before you pay. Returns follow the shop, not the label. At Prom Headquarters, special orders can't come back at all. Get the answer in writing.

When the Jasz prom line goes up
Jasz posts its prom collection early, usually in September or October, months before the dances. Every line since 2024 has gone up in that window. Style numbers climb with each line, so a higher number means a newer gown: the line posted in 2025 ran in the 7900s, and the one after it moved into the 8000s. The 2025 line was also smaller, 73 styles against 89 the year before.

Making sure it's a real Jasz
Jasz is sold through authorized retailers, and the brand says every one of them is listed on its site. If a seller missing from that list claims to have authentic Jasz, the company wants to hear from you before you buy, at or 213-744-1842. Its own words: "please confirm with us by contacting us directly BEFORE making your purchase!"
The style number is your second check. Every Jasz gown has one, and the number range tells you which season it belongs to. Ask a secondhand seller for it, then compare the dress against the brand's photos of that style. A listing that won't give a style number is a reason to walk away.
