State Street is the road out the east side of Public Square, and it carries two route numbers at once. New York 3 and NY 12 run concurrently eastward through Watertown from the square, which means the traffic passing 1317 State Street includes anyone driving in from Black River, Carthage and the towns along that corridor. If you are coming from the Fort Drum side of the county, you are already on this road.
The useful thing about the address is what shares it. This is a bridal shop and a tuxedo business under one name — the Facebook page reads “Bella Bridal & Tuxedo Junction” — so a dress and a tux get handled at the same counter by the same people. For a prom couple that collapses two errands into one, and it means the person measuring him has already seen her gown.

A steady share of the teenagers in these schools are in Watertown on a three‑year assignment, and their families have no accumulated local knowledge about where to buy a dress.
