Start with the hours, because they tell you what kind of business this is. Listings for the shop show it open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Three weekday evenings and a Saturday morning — a schedule built around people finishing work and school, not around mall foot traffic. The address, 321 Market Street, is on Route 147, which runs up the east bank of the Susquehanna, crosses the Wiconisco Creek into the borough and becomes Market Street before reaching the square in the center of town, where US 209 begins. Same street runs down to Riverfront Park and the ferry landing. This stretch of central Pennsylvania keeps its shops on the square, and Millersburg’s is a New England–style town square bisected by Market Street, which means parking here is a matter of finding a space along the block, not circling a lot.
Who actually shops here
Millersburg Area High School is a few blocks away on Center Street, and the district it anchors covers 36 square miles in the northwestern corner of Dauphin County — the borough plus Upper Paxton Township. The county’s upper end works as a unit in practice: school district events routinely group Halifax, Line Mountain, Upper Dauphin, Williams Valley and Millersburg together. These are small schools. Upper Dauphin Area in Elizabethville enrolled 323 students across grades 9–12; Halifax Area enrolled 247. A senior class out of those buildings runs well under a hundred, and in a room that size the same gown showing up twice is noticed. Ask what has already gone to your school.
The trade area also runs the other direction. One customer wrote that she drove up from Harrisburg on a friend’s recommendation after trying three shops closer to home. That is worth knowing if you assume the selection here is thinner than what is south of Peters Mountain.
What’s on the racks
Three prom labels list this store on their own retailer locators: Clarisse, House of Wu and Tiffany Designs. That is the verified inventory. It sits inside a business that is primarily a bridal shop — wedding gowns, mother-of-the-bride, and per directory listings, tuxedos and formalwear as well, though that is a listing category rather than something the shop says itself. Worth a phone call if you need a tux for the same night.
Reviews across sites consistently name the owner, Wanda, and describe her pulling dresses herself and handling fitting work. A 2015 WeddingWire reviewer described her converting a halter gown to strapless a week before a wedding. That is a one-person operation’s advantage and its limit at the same time: you get the owner’s attention, and you get her calendar.
On the school side, Millersburg’s PTSO runs a post-prom party, so the night itself tends to stay in town. The dress is the part people leave town for — unless they don’t have to.
